Hi hans!I have 2 questions, if you don't mind:

1º - are you coming back to portugal?

2º - What you think about the metal scene today?

thanks!

Hi Hans,

what are the chances of an official compilation of live performances of songs from i.e. home and souveniers, like superheat was? Home and souveniers songs really come together when performed live.

It will be on our new DVD, which we will record in 2007. Maybe we will make a lim. edition CD with it, handnumbered, 666 copies of course.. Well, we will make something really special as it has to top the 'A Sound Relief' DVD..

The live version I use both, the first 3 minutes brushes, the last 5 sticks.

1. Of course we will. Great people, fine fish restaurants, and I love to walk in (old) Porto. It's always nice to see the guys of Moonspell and lots of friends we have. We will do Spain too, as we are in the neighborhood anyway ;)

2. Metal. To be honest, I listen a lot to Celtic Frost lately, something I did 18 years ago. Back then we decided to start a band, influenced by CF.. Their new album is great. Not that innovative, but it's good. And.. I listen to Metallica, Slayer, Voivod, the golden oldies.. Long time ago I listened to metal that much.
The metal scene today, well, I am not really up to date so to speak. Suggestions someone?

By the way, Hans, since the new DVD was mentioned, are there any news concerning a potential LP release of Home?

:D Thank you very much Hans, we´ll play a set @ the 3rd The Gathering Fest in México City next december 15, so, I´ve been trying to play as you do in live versions, i liked the way you play Souvenirs and In between live, interrupting the hi hats pulse for one beat, to use both hands in the snare drum :P I enjoy playing your kind of drums!! Thanx!

Since The Gathering are very experimental, here's a few bands that you may enjoy:

Orphaned Land - Great Israeli progressive/folk metal band who sound a bit like Ayreon at times.
Akercocke - Progressive Black/Death Metal band. Can be brutal as f*ck one moment and beautifully atmospheric the next, especially on the latest album.
The Meads of Ashpodel - A progressive Black Metal band featuring two members from legendary prog rock band Hawkwind. Interesting stuff, it really is a psychedelic fusion of 70's prog rock and Black Metal. Very trippy and highly recommended, the tag progressive BM doesn't really do them justice.

Also, is there any prospect of an Australian tour next year? Sorry to bring this up again, I'm just dying to see you guys live! :P And the prospect of that happening doesn't look too good :(

Will the new DVD be a complete concert or is it with an incomplete tracklist like Sound Relief?

Hans, you should check the last 2 Ephel Duath album.

Blackened-Jazz metal. Pretty cool.

We have some plans, but this is not really a priority.

It depends on the quality of the songs. We skipped 2 songs from the concert, not that much. Of course we hope we can put all songs on the new DVD.
