Listening "Sand and mercury" i remembered the similar coda from famous
composition YES "Gates of delirium" (compare singing Anneke and Jon, and sound palette on these codas.) Is this influence music of YES or an original idea?

I was just reading your bio's and i noticed that many of the band members like the norwegian band motorpsycho;
1.) Have you heard any of the new stuff (serpentine, let them eat cake)

2.) Are you influenced by such bands

3.) Are you inspired by bands like DT (dream theater), as i listen to Sleepy buildings i find the way the guitar and vocals are buildt much the same way as DT's semi accoustic songs.. with lots of harmonies

me myself im a big psycho fan and i find it amusing that your record company is called psychonauts as it is the same name as a Norwegian fan group for the band
I've must also brag that ive jamed with the guys when they where recording a country album in my hometown, cool guys
Anyways hope someone can answer this question even tough i comes late in the post line:)

It is a very original idea. Nobody of the band listens to Yes.

1) No. But I do know Let them eat cake which is a great album.

2) Yes. The freedom and attitude of Motorpsycho is an influence.

3) We don't listen to Dream Theater. Well, I have their first album, with another vocalist.

About MP: Psychonaut is an old term. Just google around!
Cheers!

Hans

I think there is no point of recording the semi acoustic in a studio album... but well my own opinion here

Hey Hans ! :)

Just a little question about the Tour Impression which is on the DVD. First of all, I must say that this little 35 minutes video reminded me how good, fun and great the 2004 tour was :)
In this video we can see the band buying some... sandwiches (kebab I guess) and the two cooks seems to be French speaking (or they have a terrible English accent "Bass guitar ? lalala :D") and I wondered if they were the kebab you ate when you played in Lahr ? :D
Frank and Marjolein told us they were amazed that there was nothing at all in Lahr but a kebab, a McDonald and a gas station :D

And secondly : we can see in that same video that the Chile crowd is very reactive and energic. They sing during the songs, jump all around... I was wondering how did you feel toward this ? Each time I saw the Gathering in live (France & Germany) people are listening to the songs religiously and then burst in applause when it's over.
What's better ? :)

Thanks for answering all this :)

The first time I heard this term was in the 90s when I discovered Fields of the Nephilim.
Does Google tell anything older ;-) ?

No, I don't think so. Right now we are trying to do our best to write songs with massive, distorted guitars. We had our portion of semi acoustic.

Ehm, I don't know where we are eating Kebab during the tour docu, I wasn't there. And the second question, I am glad I don't have to choose. Both crowds are great! Both have charm.
