I've had the DVD "A Sound Relief" for christmas, it's amazing !!! You've got something in your songs I never heard ... These are great feelings, and i feel it so deep inside !!! I'm waiting for your next album, I know it will be great, it can't be another way.

Maybe someday you could write songs in another language, it should be great ?

I wish you the best ..

KornyShowa

P.S. : My condolences to you for Henk.

Wow, I am really very anxious and curious to hear the new CD. We all here already know it is going to be a great work, and a different work with a more guitar sound orientated. That sounds really cool, overall, if you play the guitar and love the Gibson Rutten sound!! :P
In the meantime, just "Alone" gives us an idea of how it is going to be: GREAT FEELING ROCK. Tusen Takk for det dear Gathering!! :D

Yes, looking forward to hearing the new stuff
No matter, how far, the official date will be announced in time, so be patient
Still guitar-based oriented? Poor Francky

May the heavy guitars and the force be with us!

As Attie Bauw is producing the new album, I hope it'll be a masterpiece, moreover it's truly guitar-oriented, two VERY good news.

Release in March, I think...

That's a working title.. the definitive title ain't known yet...
Personally I pray for another one. I do understand the meaning of this title but the previous albums always had a title with a bit more poetry in!

Dear all,

Right now we are finishing our 9th studio album together with Attie Bauw. The album will be called Home.

Some songtitles are: Shortest day, Home, Fatigue, Your troubles are over, Solace, The quiet one, A Noise Severe, and Alone. We have recorded 13 tracks, but we don't know yet if they all appear on our new album.

We have signed a licensing deal for Europe with Sanctuary Records. We all felt Psychonaut was a little to small to promote us in a proper way. Please read the Sanctuary statement down under this message.

I could say some words about the music, but I guess this time the music and lyrics of this album are strong enough to do the talking.

Cheers, Hans

WE WELCOME THE GATHERING – 11/01/2006

Sanctuary Records is proud to announce the signing of The Gathering!

World renowned Dutch act The Gathering started to work on their 9th studio album recently. For this recording the band has set up a professional studio in a quaint old church in the small town of Maurik, located in the south of Holland. Under direction of Attie Bauw (producer of the band’s illuminating 1998’s How to Measure a Planet?) the band worked here for a month before heading to the Bauwhaus studio to mix and master the music.

Singer Anneke van Giersbergen: “We built our own studio there because we wanted to do something different and create a new atmosphere. As for working with Attie Bauw, he is a very inspirational man with great ideas and we were very eager to work with him again.”

The new album Home is once again a journey for ear and mind. It’s a story without taking you by the hand but rather wants you to make it your own. Both musically and lyrically it deals with the challenges and victories of everyday life. All this translated in to good and solid heavy pop and rock songs where melody, dynamics and emotion play the leading role.

Frank Ströbele, Sanctuary President Continental Europe: “We are very proud to have The Gathering associated with Sanctuary Records. The band has always been regarded a genre crossing and cutting edge rock band. Their new album Home is one of our big priorities for 2006 and underlines our commitment to develop unique European rock bands internationally.”

Anneke: “After a long period of searching a licensing partner along side our own record company, we have found in Sanctuary a partner which shares our vision on music as a matter of the heart and has keen instincts of the nowadays market and business. One might wonder if these two facets are truly combinable. We believe they are and we look forward to this new period of working and creating together.”

Started in 1989 as metal band, later even labelled “gothic”, today’s The Gathering is an atmospheric rock band. On their 1995 release Mandylion, the band introduced a new singer, upcoming talent Anneke van Giersbergen. It became apparent that The Gathering would not fit any common standards but creates their own distinct style. Since then they have won a diverse and devoted fanbase all over the world.

Home will be released in spring 2006, supported by an international Homelands Tour 2006 and festival appearances throughout the summer 2006.

I like the album name.
It's a short and simple word but it usually has a lot of meaning.

I just can't wait!
The days go by way to slowly... :P

Ah, how exciting! :D

I, too, like the album title. I've seen the word 'story' mentioned a few times in regards to the album; I wonder if there will actually be a story throughout the album, as somewhat of a concept piece? Either way, I'm very excited. It would be glorious to have a 13 track album, but I'm sure they will cut one or two of them.. I hope it's close to an hour long though.
