the Gathering nominated for the Edison Awards 2006!

the Gathering has been nominated as best National DVD for the 2006 Edison Awards.

The Edison Award is the oldest and most prestigious Dutch Music Prize, presented since 1960. It has a grand history in TV- shows through the years. Every Dutchman remembers the legendary broadcasts, called Grand Gala du Disque (later Disc). Up until now the Edison award show is broadcasted on television but since 1995 not any longer under the name Grand Gala but as Edison Music Awards.

A Sound Relief will fight for the award with the Live DVD of Bløf and Wende Snijders.

We will be able to vote for the band as from 16th of February.

But as far as I understood of this http://www.edisonaward.nl website, for all (except 1) categories only a professional jury will make their choice and award the winner. Only for the category 'single of the year' the poll is open (from Feb 16th) for everybody. So I'm afraid we can not vote for 'A Sound Relief' DVD. :(

2005 is a year for this unique Dutch rock band. After touring Europe end of 2004 while pregnant, vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen gave birth to her first child in March 2005.

Hmmm, aren't TG on tour in the US in march?
