Can anybody tell me what the people are talking about in "Solace"?
It's spanish, isn't it?

You can visit that thread http://www.cyclingcolours.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4847 for the lyrics. It was done prior to release, so the lyrics might not be 100% accurate, but they are fairly close.

At the end of Solace there is a part in French: toute une vie de lutte et de travail soutenu sans fléchir. that would translate roughly in "A whole life of fighting and constant work without flinching" or "A whole life of fighting and constant work without bending the knee", depending on the meaning, I would say.

As for the rest, I *think* it is Spanish, but I wouldn't know

Yes, it's spanish the first part and says:

My english isn't good at all so i can't translate that to you but talks about a woman who always have to work and she never stops... I think the woman who talks in the song is chilean!! ... but I don't know...

Spinach

Then you just have to warm the vegetables and chili
Serve with ??bread

Sorry if this translation sucks but it's hard to hear exactly everything she says... and this translation to english might be hard to understand aswell.

The spanish part is an extract from "Letter to Theo" by Vincent Van Gogh.

Theo and Mr. Vincent are brothers.

Typical. A Dutch director/media-person (I really don't know how to say that in good English) who was murdered 2 years ago also had the name Theo van Gogh. He was killed by an arab because Theo publicly told he as against the Islam. He showed his opinion in newspapers, t.v. and through movies. He paid for that with his life. I think Theo would have loved TG, he always had ears for good music and good Dutch bands.

Anyway, this is another different story. Let's get back to topic now.

A vague and free translation from the spanish part:

A bird in his cage on the spring time knows clearly there is something he could be usefull for
He feels strong enough to do it but can not do it, what is it?
He says he doesnt remind and has vague ideas and he says ... I wonder how..."

yeah, this is the final version i came up with, it has some of the old stuff plus the "real lyrics" and the norwegian recipe part, i tried to synchronize all, it sounds good to me. you could add the dutch counting part, i dont really know, so you guys go ahead and enlighten me.
