Hasn't the "I like Home/I don't like Home" thread been done to death now? There's at least two other threads that feature exactly the same topic title and comments.

I'll add my opinion again, just for the record. Home = diluted Souvenirs. The first non-essential TG album.

Can't say I agree with that at all, to me Home sounds nothing at all like Souveneirs, it fits in far more like HTMAP to my ears, especially as Souveneirs is one of my favourite and IMHO one of the most inventive TG albums yet for them to do a 180 degree turn away from that style and do something that is a total move away from the previous album is what makes them one of the most interesting bands going.

If you want soundalike album after album why not listen to Evanescence or Lacuna Coil?!

This album is always a good choice for me when I want to take a break from listening to metal.

The album is great, Anneke is awesome she sings beautiful, the bass is just amaizing, but I think that is you are looking for a metal album, with good guitars like in the past, well, you can find it there in the past, because in HOME you can't find it, and it's a shame, because I was hoping they play some with the style of Mandylion, like Anneke said in a interview time ago. Like someone said in this topic, "Maybe next Album"

But anyway, I thought that the Gathering's evolution is thaking a way far, far, that they were in the begining of they carrer.

So my Review qualification:
ALBUM = 8
LYRICS = 9
DRUMS = 9
BASS = 10
FRANK = 10
GUITAR = 7

GOOD FOR LISTEN, BUT THAT'S ALL. NOT A CLASSIC

Anneke performance??????????
I think is perfect, for me is 10

25 is a bit much.... even if you count the live and EP/singles you don't reach 25 yet, but this will come one day ;)

Home is considered 9th studio album since BLD is considered mini album and not EP... I know... slight difference... :lol:

Too late... :o (Only a few grey hairs, but disturbing all the same - I guess wisdom is some consolation. ;))

I count 10 albums in my collection. BLD more album than EP (I don't have any EPs). Mandylion & Bonus counts as "one"; I don't count it and the original Mandylion - that's still "one", HTMAP? is "one" and Accessories is "one".

The album after "Home" will be a relief for me; 10 years together is something of a curse with bands - they'll either run out of musical inspiration and split, or live forever. Given the varied music of the last 10 years, I have faith in The Gathering following the immortal path. :)

Yes, there are 25 (or 26) pictures, but not only albums. Everything is gathered there - albums, demos, singles, eps, dvds, re-releases.

Ever heared the Shortest day live? Man that's a powerfull song if I ever heared one. the cd version is a bit on the soft side, but man do they play it well live!
Waking Hour is sooooo beautiful to hear, especially when Anneke hits the high notes perfectly, and I've heared her do it 4 times live perfectly...
Of course there's In Between, not half bad if I say so myself, and the albums good as far as I'm concerned.
