The Gathering

Do you remember when it was that you have seen TG for the first time
in concert ? I had to think about it, for me it was in the Winter of 1996
in Hamburg ...... I expected this would be a usual evening for my friends
and me when we went up the stairs to the Club (Markthalle) but NO
it was an incredible amazing event that really changed a lot for all of us,
we felt electrified,a kind of euphoria was taking us we never felt before..
we were sad that this concert had to come to an end ... i bought my first
TG shirt and thought ... this show was so goddamn pretty cool,if i could
i wanted to buy the whole merchandise stuff to honor that concert and
that band but - of cause i had not enough money and so - it was already
enough for one black mandylion shirt .. now, 10 years later,all i can say
about the memories of the concerts and after the hours of enjoying the
albums, is that the Energy of the music is taking us through our dreams
and surely i also would like to say : THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I second that, every word of it!!
But I was late in seeing them (even though I have been listening to TG since 2000): it was in the Paradiso DVD gig 23 May 2005. Their music went through my hole body and soul, it shaked me up so much I almost could fly. It was deep and true LOVE
And it was the beginning of a lot of beautyful friendships for me. I feel very greatful

I first saw them not long ago : sunday sept 17th, their Elysée Montmartre show in Paris. I loved everything but the first part : the group, Pyro was... common. I mean, no new sound, nigelblackly (bêêêêêêêrrrrk), too static on the stage. But that's only my opinion, i know how tough it is to warm a room up and make your first stages. Anyway. After some while, Anneke appeared on stage, all happy and jumpy, in white with her red hair >place the slobbering tex avery wolf here< and bam, they started! Having not bought any album since superheat, i didn't recognize everything, 7 pieces if my count is right, 2 post superheat. But i loooooooooooved it! I tried to take some shots, but i was slightly too far from the stage and my flash wasn't that powerful ! So now, i'm listening to Home rght now, and until their next gig, i've very nice memories. I wonder who's the lucky one who got Anneke's towel when she threw it from the stage

it was in 2004 (after almost 10 years waiting)... first time they came to chile.... it was good to see them... yeah.. that was really good.... nevertheless I'd have preferred to see them in 1998.. when they were almost here but something happened and they didn't come... it would have been great to see hugo in line up and to listen to stonegarden with anneke in vocals but with original music arrangements (between other things things that we'll never see again probably...) .... but well... adding and subtracting, 2004 show was very good for me anyway..... I can't say that about 2006 presentation...

My first and only one concert of The Gathering was in 2004, 29 May in Moscow! It was unforgettable Anneke enchanted me with her voice I was waiting for this concert for a long time and it was really great! It was something unusual. I don't want to go away from this concert, thank you very much, The Gathering And we are so waiting for you in our country!

First time was in October(i think) 2000

The previous day i had been impressed by a concert of the progressive rokers Camel but I couldn't wait until the other day.
I went to the club about 5 hours earlier and the first i saw was Anneke.
I said something in Dutch(probably needed many hours to learn it )
and then we started talking about several things in Holland.She was very kind...as always

The concert was great,i was impressed by the If_then _else album so there wasn't a song that i didn't like!!!!I believe that i like that concert more than the other 4 times i saw them.(Which concerts were perfect too of course!)

That was the first that made Tg my favorite band!

Top Artists this Week

First time for me was april 2003 (since 1995! like Coyote i was late ) in Paris in Elysee Montmartre stage.

i was so excited to see them ... i arrived in front of the Elysee at 1 pm and the show supposed to begin at 7 pm (there was noone )... at 3 pm I saw Anneke coming near the Elysee... she was takin a walk in Paris. i was just realising "wow that's her!"

otherwise the show was great and i had much fun. Nevertheless, this gig wasnt my fave.

My first was in 1998, Biella (my hometown).

It was amazing of course, Anneke was very kind and beautiful. Supporting bands were Seigmen and Lacuna Coil

My first concert from The Gathering was at 26th of December in 1993 Eindhoven Dynamo...

Singer was nog Bart anymore but Niels Concert was awesome Never gonna forget it!!!

In 1999 when they first came in Athens for a concert...I was really feeling as it was impossible for me in the 90s to travel abroad - no money!

With a newsletter from the Eleanor's Faces FC on my hands I entered backstage to share some time with them. I was really unhappy to see the reactions around me for Anneke - well the guys "liked" her very much!:)

The concert was awesome...and we were lucky to listen to Stonegarden which was a magic moment along with Sand And Mercury!I recorded with my Sony old journalist cassete recorder and I have it as a memory that will never be forgoten...

I would feel great if I had witnessed them back in 1992 for the Always album...but I am Greek, not Dutch!
