Vic Records will release some extreme rare The Gathering songs. The album, most likely a double cd, will be called 'Downfall' and will consist besides the 1991 rehearsal demo 'An Imaginery Symphony' and the 1991 (Moonlight Archerer) demo, a very rare 6 track pre -production demo, recorded in 1992. Featuring Bart Smits, the grunter from the 'Always' era, singing normally. This recording has never been released in any kind of format, it was only for the band members.
These very rare and extremely exclusive songs will be released in a strict limited edition only. As a bonus you will find the The Gatherings Celtic Frost coverversion of the track 'Dethroned Emperor'! Click here for a sneak preview of the astonishing artwork for the upcoming album.

This label is the same that put out the first October Tide album in midnineties, also released Crystal Age's album and Hammerfall, if I'm rigth. Since then it has been inactive, and now they have a lot of albums in the works, Paganizer, Ribspreader, Sear Bliss' rereleases, Another Life etc....

Yes, we are busy to re-release Downfall again, with some bonus material. Stricktly lim. edition. The Hammerheart Downfall version is not in print anymore.

It's already been released by Hammerheart Records in 2001 into 2 versions, another dirty business for the fans! :evil:

Nevertheless, this version wasn't feat. the Celtic Frost cover 'Dethroned Emperor' so, we should wait and see...

DETHRONED EMPEROR?I can't believe there is any recording of The Gathering perfoming a Celtic Frost song!That is for sure something very important - for me at least! :D

I am looking forward to it...that material is the best they've ever done - for me! Moonlight Archer one of the best atmospheric doom/death demos of that period - along with 3rd And The Mortal which recorded one year later!

hmm I think the amount of fans who bought downfall is not that great if we consider not everyone get into the first period of the band...
I bought Downfall that I see more as a document... so this re-release will be just another one ;)

Ah! With certainty it will be well coming! Is it already known where this new album will be thrown? Will it be that it will arrive to South America? I will twist that yes, it is a good phase of Gathering.

sure I'd like to buy also this Downfall
but usually I am not able to buy new cd as soon as it's released...

How much is it - a limited edition? 10 000 cd, less or more? I hope it will be more :)

Do you expect that the band will take some Downfall cds on tour in the first half of 2007? It would be a good chance to get it.
