According to a concert-goes at the May 25th concert, sounded like the last clear-Home LP was sold. :(

Whenever I've lost hope in getting limited stuff, I visit The End Records and voilá:

http://www.theomegaorder.com/s.nl/it.A/id.15202/.f

There seem to be some black vinyls still available, too. ;)

Now, if TG only released a 5.1 Home DVD Audio...

God, I hope not. That format ruins music.

Music is heard monaurally, and to divide what is designed to be heard in unison strays from the whole point.

@Kain's D.
Somehow I don't think this is going to happen. It requires remixing the
whole thing to multi ch audio. I don’t see the point for that. If you have
5.1 setup and want to listen it through all speakers why don’t you switch
your amp to Pro Logic II or all ch stereo.

Just ordered the clear version!!! I'll (probably) be the only Costa Rican to have that! Among many other unique-to-the-country items  :green: .

Wheeee what a lovely b-day present! That and Celebrators of the Becoming of Therion in digi-pack make me really happy :green: .

I'll also buy Empyrium: A Retrospective soon!

Man am I a consumist or what? 8) :D

Happy b-day to me!

You guys are actually going to play your clear vinyl editions? I'm considering getting mine framed (even though my wife may not approve).

I totally understand wanting to hear the album on vinyl, don't get me wrong. I guess I'm a bit more of a collector in the sense that while I would like to hear it, I won't play limited edition vinyls. I prefer to keep mine as mint as I can.

To each his own. If you want to play your clear vinyl, just make sure it's cranked. :D

i share DevyMetal opinion, i got many vinyls which i listen to and also some which i just keep in best condition as collector items (like TG ones).

and i consider myself as a vinyl listener.

I know a vynil is more fragile than a CD however, would you keep a CD sealed just because it's a limited edition?

I mean I understand a bit the collecting habit.. But you'd be books freak, wouldn't you read them when you buy them before to put them on your shelves?

Burn, dont even think i feel more intelligent than you are. this is wrong.

of course, there are many things which i dont understand, the point is i tolerate them more.

If I had a CD from one of my favorite bands that was limited to a 300 print run, I would certainly keep it sealed, especially since I'm sure I'd be able to download the music from the internet.

Actually, when Devin Townsend released his Terria in special edition form, I bought two of them. One is still sealed.

As for the book analogy, it's not bad, but you're forgetting something. Two things, actually:

1) The book would have to be a very limited print.

2) I'd have a cheaper, more readily available version of the book to read (because with Home, I already have it on CD).

And now for my question to you: don't you fear scratching (or otherwise compromising in some form) your clear vinyl Home when you play it?

yes it's a risk I'm willing to take... Actually my Souvenirs LP has a very lil scratch on These Good People... but what is important is not the support on which the music is but the different experience of the same music...
like you would hear a song on studio and live version.. here you have 2 different studio versions...

So yeah it's a risk.. but I take it... if one day my LP is not playable at all anymore, it means I will have enjoyed it a lot... some things we cannot keep forever...

Fair enough. Your perspective is purely logical, and I can't (and won't) argue with it. Enjoy your records. If I want to listen to mine, I'll buy another one.
