these are two different profiles.

here is mine:

if i want to listen to my sealed Lps, then i'll open and listen to them... but it is no way i buy another same version copy.

especially if there are different pressings: origin country, colour, uncut to shape...and so on and so on...

for example: i collect Helloween's Keeper of the Seven keys part 1 and/or part 2... well, only the original versions

i have blue (not sealed, cause bought as used but mint condition) , pictures disc (sealed) and black vinyl LPs.

i listen to the black ones only.

at the moment i dont feel likely to listen to TG LPs it ... it's specific to the band (it's my fave band and as a collector fan, really dont want to scratch them)

but i'm thinking about it. i mean i can change my mind. as Burn said, it's good to get different experiences.

as there are two "home" pressing, there are big probabities to listen to the black one, i guess.

i have the same view for CDs.

still about Helloween keepers, i have european versions (not sealed) , US (not sealed), german special edition versions (sealed) and japanese versions (sealed + obi +japanese lyrics).

the digital sound is the same for all of them so i listen to the european one...

ps: as a collector, i dont see any problem to keep my stuffs sealed. i can protect them too with special sleeves (for LP, or CDs)

that's it! ^

I do always listen to my vinyls and cd's, were they limited or not. There's a chance that there'll be scratches but anyway I buy them for me to enjoy them. To protect them from every sign of use would just mean that I'd like to sell them to someone at highest possible price and that's not why I'm buying them. But still I try to keep them look as "untouched" as possible even if I'm listening to them. I handle them like jewels. Anyways I understand all the different point of views you've said in this topic about this. Just wanted to tell what I think and how I do.

The purpose of a record is to play music. People who buy these things with no intention of playing them are interfering with the order of the universe. Unplayed records go to record purgatory when they die, and they return to haunt their owner for all eternity who prevented them from fulfilling their purpose in life. :P

If you want to treat it as a product, buy it and don't listen to it. But if you want it for the music, listen to it.

That's how I see it.

Personally, I bought both colours of the Home vinyl, and if I happen to pick up either copy from the shelf, that's the one I'll spin.

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here then. I bought my LPs for collectors purposes. If I want to hear the albums, I'll throw on the CDs. If the time comes when I need to hear how Home sounds on vinyl, I'll buy the standard version so I don't have to risk damaging such a limited print version as the one I already have.

But like I said earlier, if you guys want to play your LPs (limited editions or not), go right ahead. Just make sure you play them loud. 8)

My copy of the clear vinyl arrived today. It's so beautiful! I didn't expect it so soon 'cause there never was any "shipped" in the status of my order on the site.

I just ordered a few copies of the black and clear. I'll play some and keep the rest for backup. I regret only buying one copy of HtMaP LP when it was available. Very little music appeals to me so I might as well spend on what I do like. The last CD I bought in a local shop was if_then_else the day it came out.

The Souvenirs vinyl does sound better than the CD. For convince I recorded the LP on my computer with high bitrate. My turntable and old soundcard aren’t very good but I think it sounds better than the CD.

At the website of The End Records the clear vinyl edition is now Out of stock.
