I assume it won't be possible or a good idea to approach Niels Duffhues about coming back in. I think "almost a dance" is a criminally underrated Gathering album and the vocals are incredible. I always feel like I'm going to break in half when I listen to that record.

Wow. From some of her other myspace songs, I was afraid that the 'soaring' and higher-range requirements would be faulty. But this video shows that she clearly has the chops at a young age.

Will her age be a factor for and chemistry (shes 22 now)? She seems like a good-sounding fit for back catalog material at least. Suppose it matters what the band envisions as their 'future sound'? Are they going to stay with the 'Trip Rock' concept, or grow with the new vocalist's strengths?

I like Marjan. Hope she is considered. 8)

look at this: she's Sanne from RubyQ, she's from Holland, she's a Marjolein friend and she has a great voice:

I like the voice, not the style at singing :-| besides, having a fashionista frontlining TG is not appealing to my heart

all of this is not objective and all these singers suggestions (even interesting for many of us) dont make any sense . Since the topic started.

How can you fit a voice to some music which you haven't heard about yet?

I'm impressed.

We can't - but then neither can the band, unless they've already written that music. So if they're looking for a singer now ...

The other thing is this. Most TG live sets take about two hours. An album takes about one hour. If the new singer can't interpret the existing songs, then either the live set comes down to one hour, some time next year when the new album has taken shape, or he/she sings the existing songs too.

they did: they've already got some ideas and demos.... what i heard in the latest interview from Romania or I may be wrong:

http://www.metalhead.ro/Interviuri-Conf ... g-157.html

they even started auditionning

to me, The Gathering new era has already begun.

No harm, you guys are only mentionning singers you know or would like to hear for your own comfort (still in the Anneke era). that's it. And you have no idea about The band's plan and how the new material sounds.

to me, this topic means "The Gathering is looking for new singers". not the fans.

I don't know her, so no. :)

Okay, a hint: Triple J Hottest 100, Top 10, 1990s.

Suffice to say, she's not an Anneke clone, but I think her voice can do justice to the back catalogue, and also make a significant contribution to the future direction of The Gathering. If it all works out, of course... I hope it will, but ultimately it's the band's decision - and I respect that.

Any more clues for a fellow Aussie? :P

If you have just been in one, you might call it "The Big Sleep".
