Hey

I was checking Century media' website and just noticed that the will release a reissue of NIghtimebers on july 30th.

Just a small pic of the new cover, so.. does somebody have more info about this? Any extra material!?

http://www2.centurymedia.com/index.aspx?page=detailed_artist&id_artist=68

Cheers

Hmm I have no additional info on this, but it sounds interesting. It should contain some bonus tracks (more NB-era demos maybe), and it must have a better leaflet than Mandylion reissue. The cover seems sweet.

Thank you Abbath for this.

didnt know about it.

infos from CDuniverse website... not very explicit though...

Quote:
Including no less than 29 tracks, this deluxe edition of "Nighttime Birds" is the most complete anthology of the The Gathering era of 1997 one can get.

Then should we expect for HTMAP? reissue next year... ahahaha... oups sorry.

I'm wondering what material is gonna be released on this version?
"no less than 29 tracks", they say?

Hm, well the original album itself is 9 tracks...
and I'm hoping the bonus stuff isn't just recycled material that was already released on Accessories, but even if so...

Accessories contained:
-the Eroc demos, which were 9 tracks...
-the b-side songs from singles recorded during that period, which were "In Power We Entrust The Love Advocated" & "When The Sun Hits"
-Anneke's acoustic demo of "Shrink" from 1996

So, all that adds up to 21 tracks.
If they are completists, they could go nuts and also include the radio edits of "The May Song" and "Earth Is My Witness"...
but then they'd still have to add 6 more tracks to make a total of 29.

Maybe some of the "unofficial" stuff will appear here, like the Pinkpop 97 show, or a few songs from the Poland 97 tv concert?

I'm kinda curious...
Well, I guess we will all find out soon. :)

Thanks for posting.

This is exactly what we could have expected from Century Media, isn't it?

as always, it's such a shame they didnt make some more efforts about the artwork.

(the cheapest strategy for more rentability)

Well, I'm wasting time complaining .... I will get this reissue anyway.

But i must say that the picture itself is glorious... its a pity they dont change that hedious font, they´ve used it for all their TG late releases :-?

Wow- did I call it or what?? :P Haha...
That's almost the exact tracking order that I suspected, including the tracks from the Poland 97 show...
That makes a bit of sense, I guess, being that Century Media already kinda "owns" that concert since they released part of it on the In Motion dvd a few years ago...

If re-releases are the new craze for CM, then I'd like to see an official release of that entire Poland 97 show from the master tapes- the vhs bootleg I've owned for 8 years or so isn't of the hottest quality, and though the version on In Motion is pretty sharp, it's still only about half of the show...
It might have been a nice bonus for this Nighttime Birds reissue, instead of just having the same tracks we already got on Accessories- way to go, CM! haha :P

Well, the audio content doesn't look too alluring to me. But it will be a nice package, anywayz. Now I wonder if the art on the booklet will be the same or it will have new pictures and stuff, I know the limited digipak version from 1997 had the booklet in colours, while the normal (jewelcase)version we all know is b&w. That detail would make a difference.

Ps: Century Sh*t f*ckers, Re-Release the old singles please!!! :green:

as for Mandylion Deluxe edition, I guess the new NB booklet would be slightly different from the original one: opacity and colour lyrics page changes, including very small pictures and comments.

ps: all the original NB jewel case versions I have get full colour pages... (Probably you're talking about the US jewel case version, aren't you?)
so does the mexican digipack (with the scarecrow sticker)... I dont own the european digipack. dunno how it looks like and if it's very different from the mexican one. Ist it the one you're talking about?

wow, this is getting confusing to me ... eheheh ^^

Great news!

NB is my second favourite TG album! And the versions held in "Accessories" are excellent, and sometimes better than the original ones!

So, there is nothing new on the CD's.
I never bought the Mandylion reissue. Was that remastered?

Thankfully no.Original Mandylion CD sounds just fine, there is no need for any silly "remastering"

There is no booklet in the european version of NB...the lyrics and photos are printed in the several digipak panels...

Well, its been a while since then, I remember years ago, I saw the NB edition in digipak, (not lucky enough to have one) can't remember if it has booklet or not, but I remember the inlay was in full colours, while the NB I own is the US version jewelcase and it has the inlay B&W.

Since there really isn't anything new here (literally, since I just checked with my copy of Accessories), I'll be avoiding this.

unless they do a remastering of the album, I dont really see the point indeed... Well I see CM's point of view... TG is a highly collected band so there is some money to make there. but further...
At least the re-release of Mandylion had something new to propose ;)

Now I wonder if there will be a re-release of htmap? ;)
