I once saw in an interview René saying that they never will record the 2 first band's albuns with Anneke singing.I really expect that he change of his opinion, because the only reason that I even not purchased those albuns is because is not Anneke who sings it.If they don't want to remake all the material,at least they could just record the vocals, with Anneke, and replace it over the music.

P.S.:sorry if my english it's not very well,I hope that I can be understood...

well they have three songs from the older material on their next "SLEEPY BUILDINGS". I'd prefer some new stuff with more creative melodies that suits annekes voice more :D

I guess that once you'll hear the new version of "Like fountains" sung by Anneke, you'll change your mind ;)

Re recording vocals of the 2 firsts albums with Anneke would be meaningless in my opinion just because each album of TG is like a picture of the band at a certain time...
Then it would be like removing previous members and put Anneke instead...

And well, I guess Herr Dica has a good point ;)

No need to change to albums for me.. They're great as they are... And indeed Anneke singing Stonegarden Live is quite chilling...

What's the point of going back the stairs, when you've already climbed higher than where you began?

I don't see things this way.
If you can remake some thing that you made in the past in better conditions, why not do it?

Blue Danny:

Several bands (i.e. Babylon Whores) actually have this obsession of recycling: remaking their early not-that-high-quality songs. I can see where you're coming from but I think that when a band is able to develop and go _forward_ with their music, they should and not dwell on the past.
Get over the 'bad' stuff, I mean.

Well if they would do it.. it wouldn't be good anyway... They're miles away from that now... [this stand for re-recording vocals only]

And well, they did re-arrange some of the very first songs for Sleepy Buildings!! And that's more interesting but I wouldn't like to see everything of Always or Almost... redone...
Quality is not quantity ;)

I can somehow understand why they don't want to re-record.
Those albums were their first steps in a set of steps to come to such a style of music they play now. And as it represents their work, as they had been satisfied at that time I somehow doesn't make sense to change the whole thing, even if most of it would not fit to the program.
But as they already rearranged some songs, who know, someday they will make an additional album with that songs, sung by Anneke?

I was wondering if the album will contain the lyrics of the songs (which I doubt)...
'cause the lyrics of Like Fountains are a bit different from the original version, and I can't get all the words of the chorus part (which is simply marvellous, btw)

it is much more interesting spending time working on new ideas/stuff. I think we all want them to make a new gathering-record in 2004/5 and not in 2006 because they lose a year in making two records already done!
I really love always/almost and i really adore the rearranged versions on sleepy buildings, but a complete 'always' with anneke would bore.

Rerecording , (+rearranging) should be done if you're lacking new ideas

I totally agree with but i don't think that the band will release a new record in 2004-5.they will tour for sleepy buildings in 2004 and then make a big break,as you can read in the new section.
After all, they have private lives to live, something that i respect,no matter how die-hard fan i am  .Then, relaxed and ready horefully they will start working their new ideas somewhere in the beginning of 2005 i presume.
Fine by me! :D

I think it would be a waste of time. Maybe they could perform some of them live, but that's about the extent ot the time they should invest.

I agree with the main topic here. To be honest, i only like the albums when Anneke started singing, therefore i would like to see how those two albums would turn out if it was Anneke who grabbed them first... surely alot more beautiful, no offense :P

Would be a good "when you have the time" idea. Now go and polish that Sleepy Buildings album xD :P
