The Gathering on iTunes & more

Hi all,

First of all we, the band, wish you a superb 2008!
We are doing fine, we hope the same goes for you.

Lots of [re]releases coming up:

First, we have put our entire Psychonaut Records catalogue on iTunes shop. It's all there, from Always, Black Light District, until our latest one A Noise Severe. Of course all the Century Media releases are available too, so our entire catalogue is digital now.

Speaking of Century Media: C.M. is about to release Sand and Mercury, a 10 [!] CD box with all our Century Media releases gathered in a nice box for a fair price [around 30/35 EUR]. I wrote liner notes for every album. the box set is limited to 3000 copies.
This year it's 10 years ago we released How To Measure A Planet?, so you figure out what will be Century Media's next special release ;o)

Another special release: Vic records will re-release Downfall - the early years this spring. It contains the Downfall CD as well as an interesting 6 track demo we did for Almost A Dance with former vocalist Bart Smits. Recorded at the beginning of 1992, this demo was the last recording we did with Bart. Very interesting material.
The owner of Vic records, Roel, is an old school mate of me and Bart and kindly asked us to do a re-release, as the original 'Downfall' CD isn't available anymore.
This release is a true revival of the old school demo tape days.
More info: http://www.vicrecords.com

And back into the present:
We were asked by ProductieHuis & MusicLab Brabant to write music for a dance ensemble. This cross-over combination of music and dance will be called Arr. 2. More info [Dutch only: http://www.productiehuis.nl/content.asp?path=po2fgfn9]

And yes, we are working on new material. Trust us and don't worry. You will hear new Gathering songs in 2008.

Cheers,
Hans

Thank you, Hans. For those of us who don't understand much Dutch, are there any music samples on that website?

The 4th song is called "The illusionist" and is an instrumental by Frank, in the same vein as the instrumental on "Always..." of the same name. The illusionist was used (at least a few times) as an outro to the live gigs.

Number 6 is indeed called "Of pavillions and fountains", so Burn is right on that one... It wasn't a working title, the lyrics were written (as is many times the case with me) after I came up with the title. For AoD, the title was changed to "Like fountains" and the lyrics rewritten.

So, did I win anything by guessing one title correct? :D

Bart, how do you feel about the release of the AaD demo's??? Do you own them personally, or has it been a long time since you've last heard them??

and the winner is...

thank you Bart for the info
so the title was The Illusionist sounds cool and promising those synths and keys used to be evil.

definitively you should come and visit us more often, would be great if you give us more details about those songs in the future when the album comes out.
I wonder if this release will have the lyrics, if it doesn't, then we can ask you about that matter hope you don't mind to answer. :green:

cheers.
