David Hasselhoff rules,i did a nose job sometime and looked like him,had to redo it cause girls went nuts.

I think the new singer will be either Madonna or Litsa Giagkousi.

The Gathering strikes back: new album 'The West Pole'

Dear all,

The waiting is over. Well ... almost!

We are very happy and proud to announce the release of our 9th studio album in april 2009! The album will be called 'The West Pole'.
You probably are curious who is singing on our new record. We have found a new (female) vocalist , and we will have two (also female) guest singers on 'The West Pole'.

We can imagine people are anxious to hear some of our new music. However, we will not make it to put new songs online this year. The reason is that some of our (many) guest musicians still need to be recorded and we prefer to present only complete version of the songs. As soon as we have mixed and mastered the album we will put some tracks on the web and of couse you will be informed with all possible details. We believe, after hearing the new songs, you will agree the waiting was worthwhile!

We are very, very proud and we feel we made something really special. The album is produced by René Rutten, it will contain 9 tracks and will be released on our own imprint Psychonaut Records. It will be a very extravert, rock orientated, alive album. Typically The Gathering, but with many new elements. This time it's absolutely guitardriven. For sure.

'The West Pole' will be available via our own webshop one month before the actual release date. Like our DVD 'A Noise Severe' we will make special packages. More news will follow soon.

We wish you a very nice Christmas and a superb New Year!

Cheers,
On behalf of The Gathering
Hans Rutten

wish a successful and happy new year to you too!

completely irrelevant:
nice...and now to wait again...

What about the shoegaze stuff? guitar driven material, i´ve heard that statement few times in the past, its always not what i expect, ... this time "good" if it is for real, anyway nice to know they are back on track.

Translation: Now to wait... again.

And well, Spanish is only the second most spoken language in the world, so you're wrong.

I don't know if spanish is the second language on the world.. but it's a nice language with a lot of variety and ways to say something...

however this is an english section so we should respect that I guess,

about topic... well... I agree with tenebris the ambiguous... we heard about heavy stuff before and that never happened in last two studio albums... but now, with anneke out... maybe it comes true...

I'm sure Shrink meant to write "not everybody understands Spanish" so s/he's not wrong.
And Spanish is the 5th or 6th most spoken language; after Chinese, English, Arabic, Hindustani and according to some estimations, French.
It's not a big deal really, but i'd prefer not to have to go to Google for a translation everytime someone arbitrarily decides to write in his/her native tongue. Just a friendly suggestion

Hehe ok. But where did you read about that rank? I believe it may actually be 3rd, but never 5th or 6th.

Ok sorry for the bashing, I didn't mean to sound rude :P . Haha well then I'd be one of the few who'd translate it so you can understand :D .

It's a highly debatable subject but: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_la ... Estimation.

China has a population of 1.4 billion and India of 1.2...you can't beat that. And i think it's obvious that English is practically the lingua franca of the whole world right now, so it's impossible for Spanish to get into the top 3. Plus, many linguistic lists give Arabic a more modest place than it actually deserves, because of it's many, many dialects. There goes the 4th spot. The only debate can be whether French is more common than Spanish or not. According to the number of native speakers, Spanish is the winner, but colonial affiliation of France especially in Africa blurs a possible accuracy on that part; though if you ask me, the immense popularity of Spanish in The States is enough of to place it before French. Hence the 5th place.

Well, that was boring... sorry.

the discussion its kinda pointless without a context, if you are talking about the most spoken languages, all those statistics are correct, but i think what the first post meant (by jester) or maybe not...is that in western culture spanish language could be the second of preference.

hey go blablah about the most spoken language in another thread :)
to come back to the west pole (which I know already will be soon known as TWP) I saw what could become the artwork and I loved it (and honestly, I dont think artworks is the strong point of the band)... and I know it's mean to say... but at least we can keep on speculating about the album now ;)
