I have a few:

1. I'd have been very interested to hear an album in Dutch. Seriously. I don't understand very much Dutch, but that's not the point. As we may find out shortly when we hear Marcela sing in Spanish, we master our own native languages best. I have Artrosis albums in both Polish and English, and I think the Polish ones sound much better than the English ones - and more "authentic" in some way.

2. The Mariah Carey tendency. There wasn't too much evidence of this in the early days, but ornamentation started to bother me eventually. I don't get it - it's as simple as that. It may fill a gap in fairly simple instrumentation - and that's where Anneke's music may be right now - but it seemed too much against the rich TG musical backdrop.

3. The band missed getting televised at Glastonbury. I talked to Anneke about that not too long afterwards. I'm not saying that it would have made any difference to how things stand now, but I see it as a big missed opportunity in the UK.

4. That Century Media nonsense.

No I don't feel regret about this era. and I don't blame for the band.

I turned the page anyway.

If I'm still not convinced by the new songs, it's not because of Anneke departure, neither Silje arrival... that's only because of the instrumentations. they are boring to me (sorry Hans if you read me). this kind of music is suitable for more listener than me.

or maybe, i evolved looking for something else.

maybe and finally I won't like this album

but as i said it before, time will tell...(positivity, yeah positivity)

Only more tours in CALIFORNIA.

Nothing else.
It was all perfection.

It started too early (or I was born too late?).

I've only seen TG once but I didn't know them yet back then.
Started listening to them in 2007, but unfortunately, it was too late.

Btw, Anneke said she wanted to make a Dutch album ;)

If that is true, she has plenty of chances to make one, now.

I prefer English, since I like to understand the words.

I didn't want to slag the Dutch, like Michael Caine in Austin Powers.

And, I'M NOT KIM! :green:

I'm sure Mrs. Van Giersbergen will allow us to hear her native Dutch soon enough, if she wants to do so!

I have no complaints or anything about Anneke's "era" because it is still going in another form.

I fully support her current career and have just recently ordered more of her goodies from the site.

The "Anneke era of TG" was what I meant.

On Dutch, what can I say?

I know you meant TG, but I like to look at AVG's career a bit more broadly.

No complaints about Anneke era TG. Some minor things but they didn't occur very often.

I started listening to TG around 2003, and like Kim, I regret not listening to them sooner.

Additionally, like BridgeToClarity, I wish there were more tours where I've lived in the U.S. I planned on seeing TG in 2007 in Grand Rapids, MI, but a friend was having surgery that day. Then Anneke announced her departure from the band a few weeks later.

I wonder whether Anneke will ever tour the U.S. now. It was strange that Anneke's "Pure Air" wasn't released in the U.S. (I discovered that you could order it through the Dutch version of iTunes and pay a lot less than ordering through the AdA website.)

I hope The Gathering tours the U.S. so I can finally see them. I am excited about seeing Silje because I was a fan of Octavia Sperati.

Yeah, positivity! :D *crosses fingers and prays to the devil*

Dutch have pretty good English, so I don't see a problem in that sense. An album in Dutch would be nice though.

No regret and I am not sure I'd like to hear anything in Dutch...
i mean the only song sung by Anneke in Dutch really soup for the masses... and if it got the success ithad, it's cause it was defending the tibetan cause last year that was the hype of the moment...
