TOTP is no live music.. it's all playback man... But if that brings TG to the UK... LOL (still not sure they would do it ;))

At least they want to make us believe it's live... :P

But in order to appear at TOTP, first you have to have a hit in the UK. Maybe that would help getting booked in the UK as well (just to stay on topic... (A) ). But I don't see TG having a hit in the UK in the next 100 years... (:

(And they'd rather not have one there! UK and US mainstream... Atrocious...)

mmm... I don't understand what you mean.
because I don't see UK and US as exclusive mainstream music countries. .. are they really? I don't think so. Because these places have some secret talents there too.
Mainstream music is worldwide to me, even in France and The Netherlands. If not so, it wouldn't be mainstream music.

No, no, what I meant to say was that UK and US are usually known as being shallow. I know they don't have a monopoly on that sort of music, but many of that shallow artists do come from the US or UK, and they are most of the things that are mainstream in US and UK as well.

But to come back at my point, what I really wanted to say was that TG shouldn't become shallow.

(Oh God, that's a moralistic message to end with... XD)

Ha, pretty much all countries are 'shallow' and their charts are filled with the most appalling rubbish as far as I can tell.

And Burn, sure, Jools Holland's programme, absolutely no problem with the concept of it, it's just the guy himself.
TOTP is no more
"Top of the Pops, also known as TOTP, is a British music chart television programme, made by the BBC and originally broadcast weekly from 1 January 1964 to 30 July 2006"

Well, okay, okay, maybe you've got a point.
But then again, God bless us for The Gathering! :)

True, it's only an hour away by plane.

Lame excuse, I went from Costa Rica to Europe, and then from the UK to TN just to see Finntroll, Legion of the Damned, Sodom and The Gathering. Not to offend you, but I always find it irritating that Europeans that live in Europe complain about stuff like this. Jeez, at least you have gigs; here we get three per year. That's the weekly average (at least) in Europe/Canada, so I rest my case.

Well when you are a student without a job and after paying bills and fees has just over£200 to live on for 4 months going overseas is going to be an issue. Yet if they came here I would sell possessions to go, because it would be doable to get soem money
