Cycling colours – a tribute to TG

Hi all!

Throughout the years, the official The Gathering’s Forum has given the opportunity for fans and musicians from all around the world to make contact and build new relationships, share opinions on music, arts, The Gathering related projects, and of course their own artistic work.

Three years ago, members of the spanish section of the forum, decided to give it a try and uploaded a set of cover songs from The Gathering as a tribute album, and on 2011 they’re doing it again.

Volume 2 of the “Cycling Colours” tribute albums to The Gathering, is available for stream or free download and aims to hommage a band who in their own words, has influenced their musical taste & direction, and of course has allowed them to do something different on their own musical projects.

Bands and members of this album, belong to very different musical genres, such as goth metal, alt rock, prog rock, industrial, acoustic, etc. The album includes 10 tracks with collaborations from Mexico, Spain, Chile & Argentina and took them somewhere around 7 months to complete.

Some special mentions from us (The Gathering): “We really liked ‘My Electricity’ by Natalie Peret & Alejandro Llanos, ‘Waking Hour’ by Ampher feat. Mavi Solana and a very nice minimal version of ‘Like Fountains’ by Forgotten Beauty! But all the bands took a lot of effort and creativity to play and record the songs. So again we are very overwhelmed and honored by all the love and devotion for TG!”

This is a permanent project and worldwide fans are welcome to join for future releases.

Cheers!

Thank you, Hans, for listening and announcing the album. We hope we can receive all kind of comments on the songs, because that would help us to get better :green:

All musicians involved did this straight from the heart. We really enjoyed the process :flower:

We also hope more musicians can join us soon!

Hugs,
Karen

Great job! I am reminded of the wonderful tribute show you put together a year ago, Karen. Good times :D So many friends and familiar voices on this album. Hope to see you again this year.

Very nice, good work!

I like every single track on it (except the "vocals" on Limestars "Strange Machines" :green: ).
A big thanks to all musicians for sharing these songs with us.

I think the second volume of this track is almost ready. You can find samples of the songs on "Recording sessions 2010".
