I think he's sooooo sexy on this song hahaha, sorry Kirsten :D and Silje sounds so goddamn perfect in the second half, her voice is just heavenly there. I'm still trying to get into the structure as a whole, but I'm digging it, if Heroes for Ghosts, and Meltdown are a symbol of the new album, it's gonna be great for sure.

First thought while i´m listening: It fits perfectly towards the new sound and I like it a lot! :D

Then, the music is so driving, Frank´s voice is such a refreshing addition and the clear division between the two parts is simply a trademark of the band. GREAT song that take their most diverse influences out of their blending machine, literally, melting down the resulting soundscape! :green:

Thanks guys!

It's so wonderful that TG can surprise us everytime. I think most of us were expecting something so deep and emotional like Heroes For Ghosts, but, as Heks says, TG's new sound is showing its face with Meltdown. I loved the first part. Arrangements sound so fresh and Frank vocals give a whole new wave of emotions, combined with those guitar riffs. I think I hear some influence of Dredg's sounds, specially on the bridge.

The second part is so dreamy. I love the softeness of the keyboards and guitar and the fantastic trumpet. The base of the song is so nice. It's like entering to another landscape just before the second part and then just walking on a calm path. I love that the intention of this song is so different than Heroes For Ghosts :D

That's exactly what I thought. How many people have the privilege of being totally surprised by your favorite's band new music after the 10TH ALBUM? So nice. :)

I do also think that you need to listen to the song a couple of times before really getting it. I like that - there aren't many TG songs that have "rewarded" me only after lIstening many times; and 'getting' a song or an album after having put some effort in it is at least more satisfying than understanding it immediately and growing bored with it so to say before the release of the album.

Almost all the things I had hoped to get to know today, I now know: the new single, the album release date, a tracklist... The only thing still missing is an announcement for a TG12 club tour through the Netherlands somewhere in the near future... :)

Wow! It's mind blowing how The Gathering can evolve as much as they have, but still consistently deliver _great_ music. I wouldn't expect to be surprised after all these albums, but I am :D Looking forward to the rest of the album and EP!

very good but maybe it should have been two different songs

I tend to join that opinion. I really really love the first part! The seocnd part is also good but has not much to do with the first... I had the same feeling witha song like Capital of Nowhere.. The frist part was so brilliant that I thought "shame it isnt longer"

I think I've listened to this song at least nine times since it came out (which is a lot considering that it's 8:24 long), and I love it, just love it, especially the 80s goth/industrial/pop feeling it has to it.
