Hi all! I'm new at this forum and saw The Gathering first time live at Ruisrock (have been a fan since Mandylion, though). The gig was amazing and nearly perfect (too short since most bands got to play just for an hour). Loved the sound and the setlist albeit Liberty Bell is far from my favorit TG song, but the song was great live.

I was in the front row (few metres from you Myron, by judging from your video) screaming my lungs out and the front row audience was amazing too! :lol: We chanted Anneke's name and I think she was a little bit abashed by it. And I even got to change a few smiles with Anneke, which was great! :oops: Anyway I think the band was a little bit surprised to see so many enthusiastic fans. I'm sorry to hear that the people in the back just stood there. The bands performance was energetic and especially Anneke was in a very good mood and interacting with the audience.

Thanks for all who posted pics and especially BIG THANKS to The Gathering for making one dream come true!!! Hope to see you again in Finland.

By the way, does anyone know how many people were watching the show?

I fixed up that nice shot of Anneke for you. :) (plus I enlarged it) The EXIF data says that you have a Minolta DiMAGE A1, which is 5 megapixel. If you want to send me the original, I can do an even better job.

Great that someone took a picture of the first row and the stage :D. I don't see myself, I'm actually behind some people there. Thanks for the pics Dragu and Huoneusto.

So it was you Serendur who was screaming quite near me! I noticed Anneke's expression too :lol:.

Myron, to my left there was a guy screaming very VERY loud, it was probably he who was nearer to you.

Here are some pics I took. They're not so great that some others took, but hope somebody likes them. :)

Yes, it was really amazing concert! :D I really liked the setlist, and the whole show was great. It was nice to be in the first row. :) The Gathering was great and the whole Ruisrock was really nice. I really had fun in those three days, I think I still have a little hangover...

Thanks for the pics Freakshow :). It seems that almost all TG fans from the forum were in the first row :lol:.

It was really a nice festival although I was there only one day. Personally I was very impressed by those Viking Line and Silja Line ships sailing right next to the festival beach. So cool! And the people waved from the ships to us and we to them :).

Well, there were three fans in front of me, so I was in the 4th row and less than 5' behind the elite. But at least I had enough space to dance a bit and wave my arms quite freely without hitting anyone. 8)

Wow, it really was an amazing show.

I spent most of the hour in ecstasy, like in a trip really... (yet I was almost sober, I have to add!) It was the first time I saw TG, you have to understand... They could have played anything and I would have had the time of my life.

And now I love TG even more...

You have some great pics there, especially Huoneusto's album is thrilling. Judging from them also I was standing quite near many of you, in the front or second row... I was one of the shouters of the AN-NE-KE chant - actually there was one girl next to me who liked to start those chants, maybe it was one of you? (I have glasses and had a black t-shirt with the REC-symbol in it, and I was with my red-headed girlfriend)

I also took photos of which I could put the best online maybe tomorrow, if I just have the time... (I was in Ruisrock the whole weekend and have been mostly working since returning).

Haha, I just noticed that I took one of the pics almost at the same time, angle and distance from the stage as swana's friend did :D .
