The Gathering

Yes, that is way too many bands for one show, i hope the Gathering don't go on too late either. I'm kinda lucky in that i have a friend who lives in NYC that is going to the show with me so i can at least crash at his place after the show and catch a bus home the next morning.

as of today lamours has closed down. something about they lost their lease on the venue. SO IF YOU ARE GOING TO THIS SHOW DON'T!!! It has be cancelled and there is no word yet of it being rescheduled at a different venue. To get a refund on your tickets you have to go through whoever you bought the tickets from.

Everyone who planned on going to this show...or not. Please email Heath@excessdb.com asking him to have the gathering show moved to club krome. Its only about 25 mins from l'amours. Maybe if we get enough people to email the guy about having the show at club krome he'll do it. I've researched all the venues that bands that i see normally play at but they are all scheduled for saturday. So krome is our only hope...well not my only hope because i'm going to two other dates. But i'd really like to see them play on saturday.

It's kind of funny, pretty much the same thing happened to them last time they played New York. The show was supposed to be at Coney Island High, but it ended up being closed down right before the show, so they had to play in some small venue in Manhattan (in the middle of nowhere, away from everything else)

Hopefully they find some place to play again this time.

Clearly, they had $$$ on hand prior to their "renovation" project that they wanted to wash before closing books. You don't know these people: they are f...ing crooks.

so many people have been screwed by lamores over the years, i hope they stay dead this time and go back into the olive oil biz where they belong.

As Candace said, email or call any local NY/NJ venue that you know. This did happen to the Gathering before in NY City. In 1999 they ended up playing a crappy little underground bar called the Cooler. We can do this, we can get them a place. I've emailed a venues and made phone calls myself.

The worst thing is that Lamours waits till 3 days before the show to pull this, they really are a bunch of liars, not even communicating with any of the opening bands. I hope something smaller is booked, but then someone would have to be in contact with The Gathering's people....
Lord knows all the opening bands want to play!

I am flying from Ft. Lauderdale (florida) for the show... The plane ticket is non-refundable...

My boyfriend just informed me that the gathering will be playing in toronto on friday and saturday.

I can't even believe that.

That's so bullshit.

Well I'm gonna try for the middle east then. Wish me luck

See, The Middle East used to be really lenient with letting people in who are under 18 as long as they went with a parent. My friend went and saw Rasputina there and got in so thats how I know. Apparently tho they put in a bar or something so they dont wanna be responsible for teenagers there... my plan is to go with my dad and print the tickets off Ticketmaster and be like "Well you let me in for Rasputina, if you're not gonna let me in now I want my money back!" If they don't ask for my ID, that is... I look 18 anyway, so it may not even be a problem. I hope
