Alas, no UK gigs. If anyone's noticed something about a venue called The Borderline, see the tour details on Sand & Mercury. It's nothing to do with TG.

Thanks, folks, for your efforts in this country in 2003. If you're not planning to come back just yet, I have an alternative plan. The population of the UK should divide into roughly equal halves. Those with surnames beginning with A-M should travel west, and line up along the Atlantic coast. Those with surnames beginning with N-Z should go east, and line up along the shore of the North Sea. Each person should take a paddle.

On a pre-arranged signal, the population should start rowing. Somehow or other, we should shift this isolated realm into contact with another land mass. I recommend that we steer towards The Netherlands.

Be careful, you could grab Iceland on your way and end up in Canada :green:

Poor Geoff...
I know the band has no plans yet for after the summer... I do hope for fans and for the band there will be a 2nd European leg!

[OFF TOPIC ON]
And you story makes me thing of a joke my grandfather told me:
During the 2nd world war the nazis are trying to figure out how to invade the UK. They decide to put all their soldier along the Channel coast and by a very windy day, the order comes:
"Take your helmet off, fill it with water... und TRINK"
The soldiers start as they are commanded and suddenly the wind brings some very faded English words but they can still hear:
"One, two, three... PISS!"
[OFF]

Alright your way or the joke's way, I hope it'll be easier for TG to go visist your island ;)

Thanks folks. Burn: that's a great WWII story.

I have a second plan. The whole population goes down to the south coast, and everyone jumps at the same time. As they land, perhaps the force would be enough to flip our little tectonic microplate up in the air and land it somewhere in the vicinity of the Alps - hopefully the right way up!

And there is some good news for the fans from other countries who feel a bit left out of the tour now.
When we were talking to Anneke after the gig, she mentioned that they are planning more concert later on in the year and will probably go to Greece, Spain, Portugal and other places. There's nothing defenite but there are certainly planning more gigs!!!!
So be a bit more patient and you will get more announcements on other gig dates!

:green: :green:

Anneke told me I could post this

If you're going to any of the east coast gigs, I'm sure you'll be able to talk to her. I went to the Boston show a few years ago and was able to chat for a few minutes. :D

Oh, I agree with AlexBird - it's the great sadness.
The Gathering won't visit Russia... I couldn't attend their concert in May of 2004 and since that time I've been waiting for it. So many hopes... :(
Please, visit Russia, we're waiting for you!!! I hope Russia will be in the second tour.

.. we all have to wait! the second leg of the tour will come - but even the band (as preacher mentioned above) does not know "where, when"!

frank added saturday to me, that the second leg also depends on the success (sales) from the new album. A great success will make it easier for the band to find locaction booking them. So a bad success will decrease the number of concerts ...

I think that "The Shortest Day" could maybe get some airplay on some American alternative stations...and maybe more radio airplay will open up more American tour dates...??
