My dream has come true, THE GATHERING will be playing around a 15 minutes drive from my house!!! ... :o

My salutes to Anneke AKA "My Wife" (hehehe) and the rest of the gang. Looking forward to a great show and to say "Hi" afterwards.

Being this is only 1 hr from me driving, I'm sooooo there :green:

I don't really care for Jaxx much. To me, it's not one of the better places to see a show in the Wash DC/MD/VA area....although they do book some incredible lineups. They get more good tours than any other club in the area.
Mostly I think their sound at most shows isn't that great, and they over book local openers at most gigs. Luckily, it looks like they will only have one this show....most of the time it's 3 or 4 which invariably cuts on the set time of the bands I really want to see.

I should be getting my tix tomorrow along with several more for all my friends who like TG.

Can any of you tell me a few things about Springfield, VA? I might come to the show at Jaxx, but I first want to find out where else they'll be playing in the U.S. If I do end up coming to VA, I'll likely spend 3-4 days there, so I'm looking for things to do in the area. Thanx.

Since Springfield is so close to the nation's capitol, then I definitely recommend The National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Here's a link with a virtual tour of the many (free) museums and places of interest there... http://dcpages.com/Tourism/

Georgetown in D.C. has many and quite varied clubs.

There's also a nice park called Burke Lake very close to the Jaxx Club. The club is situated in Springfield which has many shopping malls and dining areas also. You'll definitely be able to find things to explore up here.

I sound like a travel agent now

I bought my ticket. Only I still have to get a plane ticket. I hope they will come to the San Fran bay area sometime.

This will be a dream come true for me! Never seen them yet.

Same here, concert ticket but no ride yet. Don't worry, it'll be worth the trip many times over.

ok I can clear this up easily for our friends outside the US...

The running joke on the Simpson's and the Springfiled deal is that there is a "Springfield" in virtually every state. Image

ok, back to the topic and concert in question...
