Dear all,

The Istanbul gig is postponed to februari 2007. Tickets remain valid. More news will follow.

I can assure all of you the band is really dissapointed. We are looking forward though to play in Istanbul in februari, with a new local promotor.
The guy dissapeared suddenly. It has nothing to do with rescheduling our European tour or that we don't feel going to Turkey because of any reason or whatever bullshit reason they will tell you.
We feel sorry for all of you who bought (air)tickets.

Cheers, Hans

at least there is "a little" hope that we can see the gathering. i would not be surprised if the gig planned to be hold in feb. cancelled.
very dissapointing. no such things to say.

At least Didi music won't do something like that just a few days before the event as this promoter did....at least my past relationships can assure for that fact! But you never know... :-?

I really feel that NOONE will buy a ticket before the day the concert will be done in Turkey...and I am afraid that this will make the "new" promoter to cancel it once again....

Let's see...as for me this would be a trip to Instabul not because of The Gathering concert but as a cause for having a trip there....I rather feel lucky for not going there because all this mess with Pope! And also I can't leave my job because we have too much work this week....

Were you planning to go also?

You got "very lucky"

about me...

I will try to go to Den Bosch. I want to visit that city because Rotting Christ performed there three or four years ago.

It is a little bit difficult though because i don't have friends here in athens that like this kind of music.

Well if everything is ok for me maybe we will come there on February....it depends on how the things will be for the E.U. Till now you can travel there without having anything arranged...just the passport! If the E.U. stops the negotiotations with Turkey then the things will be changed...that is for sure...and I don't think that the situations will be good from 2007 and on...

Politicians and religion divide the world...unfortunately things getting worse through time...isn't it?

Also in Den Bosch they have recorded the video which is in the compilation of The Gathering for their early recordings - Downfall 2CD!

The Netherlands are quite unique I think...I've only been to Amsterdam and I am looking forward to go again with Joanna for about 3 weeks - I have a friend there!

Rotting Christ are releasing now an album which will be their best since the Thy Mighty Contract/Non Serviam era!Necromayhem is sure now for the vision of this album...Did you attend their concert in An Club where they played only stuff till 1994?:)

I never had people around me listening to The Gathering with the same passion as mine...at least in 2003 I met my girlfriend because of this forum!:)

Instanbul has a population of 13 million, is that right :o ? It's too big a city for visitors to have trouble concerning hostility.

I'd like to visit this place some day.

yes, Istanbul is a huge but, actually, if i were a visitor in here, i would generally had gone to outstanding places, nicer and more comfortable points such as Galata, only 1 km away from the always crowded city centrum Taksim, having really nice, calm atmosphere and a valuable historical background.

It would be gerat there were a concert stage at Galata :)

I am talking ONLY about Visa...because a friend is coming from Instabul to Athens for the Tool/Mastodon concert and she is waiting for Visa...

I think that Turkey will ask for Visa when we want to come...that is all my concern and NOTHING more!:) Till now we didn't have to make any arrangements with the Turkish embassy here...I am afraid from 2007 and on this will change...

Also my studies are in computer science and virtual communities!I don't have ANY problem with the Turks...I have with all the governments of the world - including Greek government!

hi guys,

Have you been returning back the tickets of the concert? Since Biletix sent a mail suggesting us to return the tickets but the band says that the tickets will be valid..

Hi all,

It is getting annoying, but I am sorry to tell you the istanbul gig is postponed again.

The venue took the date away from the promoter and gave it to Turkcell for their corporate party.

We are now looking for a new date for this show.
I will update you when we have further news.

Cheers. Hans
