Me and LadyNephilim will also be there!
If you make sure you are there before the start of the Gathering gig, there will be a place left on the front row, that won't be a problem.
To find the venue, here's a map of where the venue is with the train station also on it:
Image

Trains from Amsterdam to Tilburg run at every half hour on 07 and 27 and you will have to switch trains at 's Hertogenbosch. It takes about 1.30 hours to get from A'dam to Tilburg.
The train back to A'dam leaves at 23.25 so maybe somebody can offer you a ride back, otherwise you will have to hurry a bit after the gig to get to the train.
For autographs, just try to stick around after the show if you can and you will probably get a chance to get some

If you need more help with tickets, trains or schedules, don't hesitate to contact me.
See you there! :flower:

@ Preacher: Wow thanx a lot! I'll try to be there as early as I can, though I might be a bit beated because the previous day I'll go to Finntroll/Sodom's gig :D , That will obviously pose no problem for me hehe.

Anyway, I already checked on some hostels @ Tilburg, so I'll stay in one for the night. I found one that is actually less than 1km away (my sincere thanks to Google Earth, it has helped A LOT), so no problem getting there.

I obviously won't sleep much @ the hostel, since I'd be too excited of the konzert, and I'll be drinking beer with maybe TG *OMG dies*.

Maybe I could go and have a couple of beers with ye, Preacher?

And the next day I go to Berlin hehehe. I'll be SO fucking beated by the end of this trip. Hurrah!!! *claps while headbanging*

Well I'll off course be in 013 that evening... and since I go to France to visit the family and that Tilburg in on the way, I was wondering if someone who lives there or nearby could host me for the night....
I know it's bold to ask, I just don't feel like sleeping in Deventer to drive again south the morning after...

So well, drop me a line on PM if you feel like it ;) and thanx in advance!

WOW!!! This was a really greaaaaat show!
The atmosphere was truly amazing. The gig was sold out so it was nicely packed. The crowd was absolutely great! Hardly any talking, a lot of singing along (not always very beautiful but that didn't matter :green: ), the band rocked as always and also seemed to pick up the great atmosphere and enjoyed it a lot too!
So one of the best I've seen in my opinion, maybe not technical and/or sound wise but as a whole.
And as usual, the crowd was international once again. There were people from Costa Rica (Jester, Gathering concert virgin and going absolutely crazy!!! Very good to see :D ), Chile, France, Belgium, Germany and probably some more 8)

27th of december I me and my wife attended the concert in Tilburg at the 013 venue. I was really looking forward to a great concert, as it had been five years since I had seen the band live (that was in Haarlem/Patronaat).

Though I am a big fan of their music I was disappointed with the concert. :(
The reason was the sound quality. In my opninion the music was simply too loud. The higher frequencies all blended together and the balance of the sound was lost. Apart from that, it was almost painfull to my ears and definetly not healthy. We ended up putting wraps of toilet paper in our ears to protect ourselves, and I saw several other people holding thear fingers against their ears.
This was when we were on the front-right of the room. Later we went to the balcony where the volume was lower and the sound quality better, but still not wat I would expect from a professional and experienced band like The Gathering and a well known venue like 013.

Am I the only one who thinks the sound was bad at 013? Am I expecting too much from a live concert? I have attended several other concerts (Racoon, Spinvis, cabaret) but this was in open air or a theatre.

I think the sound quality would be a lot better if the volume went down by 20%.

If this is 'typical' for a live concert of the Gathering, I will stick to listening to their great music on my home stereo, and not attend any more concerts.

First I've merge this topic with the rest of the Tilburg thread ;)

Then I cannot say how the sound was during the gig since I was busy myself on the side of stage but I was in the room during Swelter and I found the sound fine.
Again I can't compare with the Gathering, other music, other technician etc... But there is one thing for sure that made it difficult to mix during show time:
the mixer was under the balcony which is always a problem when you are mixing as it will sound different that if the mixer was under normal height.

I just wanted to point that out ;)

Anyway, looking forward to read more comments about how people found the sound...

If you want to see more opinions about sound level you can read that thread too
