Yesterday was a nice party,

i am glad i was there, with all my good friends!
And met new gathring minded people...

The venue was absolutely not okay, with terrible sound and light.
And the band in the beginning the pre act, my god.... get a job! and please stop making music!
Iduna really sucks... Anneke her voice never came through.
Even standing in front!
And this time the guys with the big cameras were really a pain in the ass, get rid of them. Now i know why its forbidden in al the locations. Take some shots in the beginning and then leave.
The concert felt like being in a house, like a private party, in fact thats ok.
But for my fav band, not the place to be....
(its my opinion...)

Beside that... just a good spending of a boring sunday.

Now we can wait for a new album dvd and a short tour in 2008.

Cu all later!

J.

er.. if you stand in front of the stage you do not hear the venue's sound properly...
I though it was a great performance! to be honest th ebest I've seen of the band in Vriesland... Sneek in 2002 and 2006 wasnt really that, en Leeuwaarden in 2004 neither...

I had a great time again, meeting everybody at the pre-meeting, having some drinks, talks and laughs! Thank you all for making it a great day :D

The pre-show was euhmmm, well, a pre-show... Nothing to write home about. I've seen worse but also better (like saturday...)

The concert itself was good in my opinion but my ears are not very musically developed so I am easily pleased. It wasn't the best sound of the tour but I thought it was okay, average. And I could hear Anneke sing from the first song on, that usually doesn't happen in the front. Mostly it takes 3 or 4 songs for that
I was kind of hoping/wishing for a little something special since this was the last of the dutch tour gigs but ah well. I think they did play their hearts out and gave everything they had! :)
That alone makes it worthwhile to go and see this band, even if the venue and sound is not what it should be.

So thanx to the band for a wonderful and great year of concerts!!! :flower: :flower:

About the photographers: I agree about that!!! They make beautiful pics with those big lenses and everything but it gets annoying sometimes to have those big things in front of you... Especially if there are 5 or even more of those guys around.
Maybe make a special place where they can stand all together and not be in the way?
I even saw a guy with a big big camera making pics using flash all the time :o :o :o
OMFG!!!! Don't you know how to make good pics without flash??? I don't even use it with my pocket camera. I recommend a course in photography for him :tw:

Now we can start saving for the next concerts, whenever they will be :green:

I saw The Gathering for the third time here, after Het Bolwerk 2002 and Zalen Schaaf 2004. Coming from Leeuwarden, I had never been to Iduna before. What a small venue! I hope the people who came over from Chili, USA and Sweden weren't disappointed. I wondered what kind of people would make such a trip for a concert in Drachten of all places and especially Iduna. Maybe you can tell something about youselves here in this forum. I believe I spotted the Swede. On vacation here? Or did you take your Ducati bike and drove 250 km/h average to be there?
I was also standing in front and got the idea Anneke had to put in a lot of effort to make herself heard, what is usually not the case. Tough accoustics maybe, I'm not an expert. Though the astonishing lovely lady sang as beautiful as ever, mind you. This concert made me appreciate the cd Home much more, especially the song A noise severe, which was beautifully played in an extended version. Excellent stuff! I hope The Gathering will go on for many years to come, because I want to show them to my daughter Ashley (3) an son Quincy (5 months) in the nearby future. Long live The Gathering!  :D

That to me is also far. Thanks for the videos of Leaves! I showed them to my daughter yesterday and I said: That's where mom and dad were sunday evening. Ashley liked the music and waved to it.
