some info is already written in this topic 27 Jul 2007 - Benátská noc festival, Malá skála (Cz Rep):
...

Mala Skala is 90 km far from Prague so it will be necessary to take a train or bus.
Image
It's a little village almost on the mountains, website of Mala Skala

I suppose that on the airport there are information how to get to the nearest subway station. So when you are in the underground you have to choose correct station where to get off, it depends whether you would like to use train or bus to get to Mala Skala.

1) to Mala Skala by train:
You have to find out how to get to the subway station which is called "Hlavni nadrazi" (=Main station).
I have never been on our Main train station, I hope that there are infos how to buy a ticket and find a correct train, but certainly don't expect NS standards, here it's gonna be a challenge.
I doubt that in the station there will be clearly written that you'll have to find a fast train which goes to the city called "Tanvald" (Maybe there is this info, but I'm not sure...) Mala Skala is ninth station on this line. It takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to get from Prague to Mala Skala by fast train.
It seems that on 27th July there are only 3 direct fast train; departure "Hlavni nadrazi" at 7:15; 9:15 and 13:15; 17:15.
Here is a site which should be helpful to find these trains. (Praha - Malá Skála)

2) by bus
As I found out it is necessary to go by subway on the other side of Prague where is a bus station called "Cerny most". Luckily it is also a station of subway - "Cerny most". Buses leave every half an hour.
Mala Skala is just a village therefore I suppose it is not written on the bus that exactly this one goes to Mala Skala. It will be necessary to ask somebody, and if you find platform and bus then you should ask driver to tell you where to get off. As a foreigner I wouldn't know it, maybe a trafic jam and lots of cars on road could be a hint that it is probably that village of festival. However that day I think there will be more rockers travelling to this festival - it could be helpful, on the other side it may cause that buses will be crowded.
Buses, Praha - Mala Skala

Some links:

Transportation from the airport
Public transport from the airport
Prague metro - subway

Czech railways
Czech Republic - official website

website of the festival

Mala Skala - info, accommodation...

veel succes!

there are some direct trains to village Mala Skala: 7:15; 9:15; 13:15; 17:15 from Praha Hlavni nadrazi (main railway station) - the advantage of train is that you can easily find this main station in Prague and I hope that they have there information also in english.
It is also always sure that there will be place in train, no need to buy ticket in advance I think. It's just necessary not to forget to get off at right station. I also mention it in festival topic.

On the other hand there are buses. There are many buses during day but they depart from station: Prague Cerny most, it would be necessary to take underground to get there (it's at the end of Prague).
I'm not sure but it can happen that some of these buses will be full, I know that there is a possibility to reserve a bus ticket, maybe via this site http://www.amsbus.cz/cgi-bin/res2/entry I've never done that...

So, yeah, let's meet alltogheter in Prague and take this train!!!!! ^__^

if you want to have a train ticket in advance, just visit any Czech railway station during these few days you'll be in Prague and buy it, althought I think it is not necessary.

I will be in Prague too the 23!!!! We can meet in the place Maksy advised...S. venceslao's place...I also found a place which sounds interesting:

Rock Café

The club's ground floor houses the Jim Beam Bar, an internet café, concert hall, CD bazaar, and a store that sells recording and sound equipment. The Absolut bar (offering the complete assortment of Absolut vodka), a movie theater, and a gallery are located in the basement.

Address: Národní Třída 20, Prague 1
Getting there: Metro B to Národní Třída

Hey everyone

We are arriving to Prague at about 18:00, I guess for first we're checking in the place where we sleep (some student hotel), leaveing the bags and tents there and then we're ready to party over the night in the Golden City!!!

A meeting on the Wenceslao Square at about 20:00 or 20:30? I guess it's enough time to find everything and fight the Praguan public transport too.
Hmmmm? How does it sound for you?
I'll be with 5 nice Hungarian girls - feels like I was some goddamn sultan or what :green:

Hey Daphne

Just one mobile number since I really hope we can meet in Prague the day before. Just in the case when we can't meet at any place we agree about because of any unforeseen reasons...

0036 20 476 4339

I hope it works so. Ciao, Peter (Hungary, a.k.a. Daeron)

PS Do I remember well that you're the Italian girl making some interwiew with someone of the band on Sound Relief?

If someone is wondering a place to crash for night or two I can kindly offer my flat to be used to non allergic people because I have 4 crazy dogs. Why to do this?

I would love to meet new people especially from other countries. The only thing you need to pay is your own food and drinks but the rest is totally free. Message me in private if you are interested.

This is not for perverts or weirdos and I can only book up few people so be fast. You can travel from Helsinki to Kirkkonummi by train in 30 minutes.

Edit: one person booked up so there is space for at least one or two more.

Hey all, I have just realised that I will be able to go to one of the historic last performances of my favourite band as I currently know them. I originally thought that my schedule would not allow it & that I would be missing out but something has changed & it will be possible for me to go to the Benátská noc festival. I have looked at some flights & I can come on the 26th & arrive in Prague (Ruzyne) at 16:30. I will take a taxi or train into the city but I will be coming by myself & would love to meet up with some of you guys & maybe travel together to the festival on Saturday ??? Also, can anyone steer me in the right direction of somewhere to stay on the Thursday night ? Cheers, Adam !
