Do you think, during the next Gathering's shows, the band will keep the old songs in their setlist ? Personally, I think they'll stress The West Pole, with a few songs from "Home" or some classics like "Strange Machines", "Travel" or "Saturnine".. what do u think about it ?

Yes, and maybe some of the older songs that they haven't played in the most recent tours.

I think the band might see themselves as a brand new band... I'm not sure of what I'm saying but well, I dont think after Bart Smits left they played any song of Always... while promoting Almost a Dance...
When Aneke joined, I know for sure that they were playing Stonegarden with her around Mandylion time... but seeing this.. I would say next tour should focus on The West Pole at 90% (like during the htmap? tour they used to play about 8 or 9 songs of that album per show, not living much more space for their back catalog)

I hope that what you say is true, Burn.. I think it was a shame that they didn't play some songs from "Home".. and, personally, I don't really know if it would be a good thing to let Silje singing some classics ; for now, I can't imagine "Travel" without Anneke..

The West Pole is not a double album. If they are headlining and play every song on it, they'd still have around 30 minutes to play older songs. I don't think they will play every song on TWP. Bands almost always stress new material when they are touring for a new album, anyway. I'm guessing for headline shows it would be 6 songs of TWP and 6 not TWP. Something like that.

well, hopefully slightly more so they play at least 15 songs, so we get a good length set
I'm sure there are some gems from every previous album they can do with Silje that will sound great, they just need to decide on the right ones.

Frank said in an interview that they will play older songs, but they still have to decide which ones..

I'm interested in how some older songs will sound with Silje

the us headline shows in 2006 were an hour and thirty minutes. That should be minimum for any headline band. imo

I have seen headline play only an hour and ten minutes. Us older folks are used to Pink Floyd, The Who, and the like. 2 and a half to three hours :)

The Gathering should just play one US show a year. Have it in San Francisco, and just play 4 or 5 hours like TGD. :D

Interesting will be; but I think they will choose only 3 old songs or so, and focus enterely in the new material; it will be a blast to hear Treasure´s guitar live!! :green:

I am sure that the band is gonna give a really really new jacket to the old songs, so I have no worries about the results.
Silje has a lovely voice and she seems to be a lovely person.
Life's what you make it..... everything will be all right :D :flower:
