Once again they were great.. :D

Still tired after a whole day walking at the festival and the ride home..

OMG - it's almost embarassing HOW tired my feet were after these two days. ;-)

Setlist was like:
When trust becomes sound
No one spoke
Great ocean road
On most surfaces
Constant run
edit: Leaves
Analog park
Even the spirits are afraid
Saturnine
edit: All you are

The order might be a bit wrong and maybe one song is missing.

The show lasted only 60 minutes. (Beeing behind schedule due to problems with the second stage, Rheinparkhalle. The Theater was used instead but it all took a bit longer there. A shame was the show of Qntal: Not even 30 minutes, it ended just after the first really good song. :-( )

It took Silje again a few minutes to get the right balance of her voice to the sound, but then her performance was really good. She "owned" especially the old songs perfectly. Like I suspected before TGs sound 2009 is not exactly what I want to hear from them. I'm more the Souvenirs and Home-guy, not the heavy guitar sound. Although this works pretty good for a few tracks. Whatever, I loved the performance of "Analog park". A song which I did not really pay that much attention to yet. And as I love instrumentals the intro was perfect, too. If they only would have recorded this song which such a clear sound than this live performance...

Ah, not to forget: IMHO the show was played too loud!

One first pic I took during the soundcheck..

More to come..

The setlist looks ok, but Leaves was played and you missed the final "All You Are" which was smashing.. Can't remember Treasure, so this might be changed..

Regarding the soud I was not happy with all the shows I saw at that festival, but since I'm wearing ear plugs everytime I'm in front of a stage, it was ok. These little things are great and save your ears..!

I changed Treasure to All you are - tend to confuse these two songs. Though pretty different sounding, I have a similiar feeling for both.

Concerning the ear plugs: I tried three different types during the festival. All of them couldn't satisfy soundwise. The cheapest ones (50 cent) were the best ones I had to realize. My "Music safe" plugs for 30 Euros (dunno the prize anymore, but something like that) lessen the high frequencies pretty well, but I can't really hear music anymore due to the deep basses. The plugs can't change the audio pressure (?), that's the problem, IMHO.

Sound-wise I think Fields of the Nephilim were pretty good on the "mainstage". Probably much more difficult to get a good sound in the theatre.

I use eQuiet ear plugs that work very well.. They are really cheap and have a filter system.. (About the plugs - in German) Since I was at the festival on Sunday only, I can't tell anything about FotN or the other band playing on Saturday. And I think with changing the hall they got problems with their PA and stuff.

In the setlist now only Leaves is missing which was played before Analog Park..

Thanks for the hint. From what I understand here: http://www.earplugs.de/Cont/Infos/Sonicgram.htm
these plugs should at least not be better than MusicSafe (which I have). All these plugs filter the highs pretty well, but it remains too much bass. Which is a physical problem. Maybe I'll try eQuiets next time, but I guess that I won't find ear plugs with really satisfying sound.

After one more look at this website maybe "Jazz" is worth a try. It filters also the low frequencies pretty good.

About ear plugs an average damping of 15 dB is enough, if you have more you will think it's not loud enough...
If you have a limited udget for about 30 EUR this will damp the sound evenly http://www.webbikeworld.com/Earplugs/ea ... o-safe.jpg
if you want the top range, you might need up to 200 EUR but you get custom made stuffs

BTW, I liked Siljes long shirt/dress with the skulls. It fit well into the festival's style (mainly Gothic/Dark Wave/Industrial). ;-)
