I was a great show!! The set was more fluid than 3 weeks ago in Krefeld. The band played very good, despite the fact they were 3 weeks on the road and that this tour has taken its toll on their bodies!
The only min point yesterday was the sound... I hope it was only where I stood but it was less clear than Autumn, which I had seen from another spot in the room and had a crystal clear and powerful sound.

cool! yeah!
noticed the band was a bit tired too in Lyon (especially Rene) although they did it very well along the show. Glad too Silje can sing the oldest tracks, a bit different but still personnal. with her charm.
About Autumn, I agree, it's a really good band on stage. their sound was a bit better than TG one too. The singer is a good front woman, very lively and natural, with a nice timbre... she moved a little bit like Anneke at the beginning in the line up in a way... but the Autumn songs themselves left me cold after 20 min of performances... the writing is deeper than many other bands on track.. but nothing very extraordinary finally.. well just ok... a matter of taste...
For Osm'oz, this was the french touch of the gig lol... Not bad... a bit more various and more personnal than Autumn in a way... actually, i was expecting something heavier, considering the tendancy of the gig, but not at all finally. Once I realised this is only rock, all was fine. I think this is a good band from the french area.

I'm must admit I'm impressed by the quality of the videos (the sound of such videos you find on youtube is usually really crappy).
That said, non-official photographs and filmmakers really bug me in concerts... it's becoming more and more difficult to enjoy songs of your favorite bands where you see 4 pairs of arms around you (or above you, if unlucky) flashing all around or filming several minutes in a raw while you simply want to see the stage.

As for the concert, the music was as mesmerizing as ever, and though its difficult to fit in Anneke's shoes, Silje did a really great job singing her "own" songs and those from the previous albums (oh, and she's gorgeous, by the way).
One could have been scared for the future of the band without Anneke, but if The Gathering keeps on with such good albums and such great performances on stage, well there is nothing to fear.

Regards.

Great performance indeed! And to be honest, this is the first time I got the impression that one song actually fits Silje better than Anneke.
This will change for the next album I guess.

How could it fit her better or worse? It's a song from The West Pole, Anneke never sang it, hence you have no element of comparison other than your imagination :-?
