Trying to work out how much it would be to go from England to the netherlands to go to either the two January shows or the two March shows. Start saving up :)

x johngebreadman : if you have a Easyjet airport near to you, the january shows are good (Amstelveen is very near to Schipol and Oss only 80 train minutes far from Amsterdam), if you have Ryanair..well..Eindhoven is the best choice,Bergen is quite far from Eindhovn..at least 90 minutes by train

scary? Idid go visit a few shows on my own.. the only thing I didnt like about it is that I had to limit my beer consumption casue I was driving myself.. but otherwise, it can be pretty cool to be solo!

In england I go to most gigs alone, but going to a foreign country on my own, not knowing a word of the language would be scary for me. I'll look into my finances nearer january and see where I stand. Hopefully before then they announce UK dates. first time since 2003 so probably not :(

Well, i'm from Italy ,i went bilions of times to NL to see concerts and NEVER had a problem. Dutch people speak english very well..and you can easily book a bed in Amsterdam or Eindhoven and cancel without loosing money.. :D
Anyway, i think i will go to P60 and Groene Engel gigs...Eindhoven in march is interesting too but there will be
Epica 10 year anniversary show a couple of weeks later..so...

Go to Holland! You're right next door, man. It's the easiest country to travel to. They all speak English, actually they're easier to understand than some English people :green:
So, go on. Concerts are waiting for you!

I'm definitely going to get a passport anyway. Try and see if they will be touring at the same time as Anneke and make it to a good few shows. I wish I knew how to drive, would make it a lot easier.

I went to Holland several times, most of the trips I did just on my own. After a few shows I got to know some of the fans. So it might happen I meet someone I know from a past show, sometimes I just see the show have a few beer and enjoy the eve. So no reason not to go on a trip to a dutch show of a dutch band.. In the end you're never alone at a dutch venue.. ;)

Easiest way is by train (or flight and train in the Netherlands) and stay at a hostel or a cheap hotel. I did all my trip by train. It's easy, usually you can reach the venues by foot from station or hotels in the nice little dutch towns..

So, give it a try, it's fun!

I think you'll find enough fans to help you around for gigs, hosting etc ;-) and if not, couchsurfing.org is a fantastic place to meet locals ;-)

Traveling in Holland its damn easy. Going by train can be a little confusing, but just buy your tickets in the office -not in the machines- and ask for a printed itinerary, that helps a lot.

The show on 19th in Groene Engel in Oss has preordering just for Dutch residents. But you can at least do a reservation and pick up the tickets at the venue. I did a reservation via email myself, so just write to info@groene-engel.nl and you'll get a reservation as well.

Hope that helps.. :)
