Επίτηδες έκανα το αχρείαστο, άρα εμφατικό χρονολογικό σχόλιο στον λόγο του Σωκράτη, διότι ήθελα να υπονοήσω το εξής: είναι φανερό ότι κάθε κοινωνικό φαινόμενο που ανάγεται σε μαζική ή ατομική ανθρώπινη συμπεριφορά, παραμένει αναλλοίωτο σε κάθε δεδομένη στιγμή τής νοητής χρονογραμμής. Μπορεί ανά περιόδους να παρατηρούνται αλλαγές (προς το |καλύτερο| ή |χειρότερο|, αν αποδεχτούμε την ύπαρξη μίας απόλυτης αντικειμενικότητας), αλλά, νομίζω πως η ίδια η ιστορία μάς δείχνει πως η ουσία των ανθρωπίνων σκέψεων και πράξεων, μακροπρόθεσμα παραμένουν σταθερές και ανεξάρτητες των τεχνολογικών, πολιτισμικών κλπ εξελίξεων. Γι' αυτό και διαφωνώ με τη φράση "σημερινή κοινωνία", αφού, με λίγα λόγια, πάντα έτσι ήταν και πάντα έτσι θα είναι.
