After many days of post-Gathering recovery, I am ready to give my thoughts and photos from the shows. For those of you who have the privilege to see them on a frequent basis, you probably are wondering why I needed days to recover. The Gathering are indeed my favorite band and considering how seldom they tour in America and the fact that I don't make enough money to see them overseas makes each concert experience one to cherish dearly. I really didn't want the experience to end and once I realized it was, I slowly had to adjust back to reality. I managed to catch 3 shows and would have loved to venture to Canada, but money and the fact that I probably would have collapsed from exhaustion prevented me from doing this. Moving on, I want to personally thank everyone I met on this tour, making it 100 times better than 2004: Phil [BridgeToClarity] (I think that Candlemass t-shirt got to your head  Thanks for all the enthusiasm at each show and in between ), Aaron [LordCliff] (next time you come to California, we have GOT to hang out. You're one cool dude and we share some similar musical tastes), Paul [NorthernComfort] (Thanks a million for being the friendly guy that you are and driving the rest of us around to the other shows. Also thanks for taking the pedal to the metal when we drove from DC to Boston without getting caught from the cops!! 8) ), Anthony [Anthony3] (Thanks for giving us all a laugh when we were bored and freezing in line. Hopefully I will see you at future shows  ), theWanderer (sorry about bumping my head into you when I was headbanging! ), I don't remember his screename but you were the tall guy with the baseball cap who knew the band personally (thanks for your utmost concern for the band and being a cool guy), and to the many others that I met: the Gathering fans are the best fans by far. :D (Ahem, a little TOO much talk about Lacuna Coil though guys. ) And no thanks to the idiots shouting stupid things and making marijuana jokes during the show  ) Now, on to the photos. Up first: 3/19/06 Jaxx nightclub, Virginia (my favorite show out of the 3)

Here are some pics before the show:

That's it. Honestly, this tour was the best experience of my life thus far. Sorry to those people in New York who encountered my grumpiness from lack of sleep/food ect. Hopefully I will plan a bit better next time. And I hope I can get a picture with Frank next time. C'mon Frank, don't be shy! Until next time...........

I thought it was NY, out of VA, Boston and NY shows. Jaxx had a a good crowd too. Hard to tell though, when you are at the front screaming like a nut and headbanging. :D

Depends on which show. I don't think any of them sold out but each venue seemed full when the Gathering came on. Of course, when I say "full" I don't mean "chilean full" but I hope you get the picture.

Hard to say when you're not paying attention and going crazy in the front row! I don't think any of the cities had a poor reception. I still think the Virginia show was the best overall. But I think NY had the only mosh pit during "Eleanor" so I'm going to say they had the best reception. :D

awesome pics! it must have quite the adventure to follow TG, and i bet it was definitely worth it. when i met you guys i was thinking that next time TG come to this side of the ocean i will probably go to as many shows as i can. right now, i don't have the time and more importantly the money to do something like that. anyway, don't worry about the headbanging, it's all good.

funny thing, you can see my head in a couple of the pictures

thanks for the pics and nice meeting you

I'd say a few hundred. There's no way there were 500+ people at any of the venues unfortunately.
