It's a very nice one, it's more about the band's daily life in Nijmegen than the rock life :green:
My dutch is not good enought to give you a translation tho...

Ok, i tried to translate that:
(Dont kill me for mistakes, my native is german and my dutch still has to improve a lot.)

"Nijmegen is exactly big enough - I should not leave here. Only perhaps for the climate and then i would have to go abroad."

In her favourite cafe "De Blauwe Hand" Anneke sits behind a cup of hot chocolade and a toasti. For the little singer of The Gathering Nijmegen is a town that fits to her character. "Quiet, but there is always something to see" she says seriously behind a bunch of her fire-red coloured hair.
"Nijmmegen is very beautiful" adds the singer of the band, which reached a good reputation with music that they themselves label "triprock". "For example in Amsterdam i would not be able to live. Its too busy. I am from a village and sometimes i think that i should live in a village again, but today i think then i would pine away. Nijmegen is big enough. There are a number of nice pubs and shops and students provide sufficient flow."
This cafe is the first stop on the route, which has started from her house at the "Stijn Buystraat" - for Anneke 'one of the nicest neighborhoods of Nijmegen'.
The walk heads to the centrum where the Molenstraatkerk(=Millstreetchurch) stands. This church was partly destroyed in Worldwar2. "Its a bit a strange building. I go often inside - just to sit down or to lighten a candle after a walk with my son Finn". Anneke van Giersbergen was not brought up religious, but sometimes she searches for rest in this church. "Everything goes so fast in this world. People seem to hunt through it, do almost all at the same time and at the end of their life they ask themselves what they did all the time. I cannot do that. I have just one easy 'aim' , in the positive sence of that word, i am just a singer and that is good."
Although the name of The Gathering is well-known in the Netherlands, Anneke can cross streets normal. "We are a bit under the level of really-famous, and thats really fine. Sometimes i read on the forum that someone saw me walking in the town with a red jacket on and that my face looed a little glum. Then people directly use to make conclusions, i dont like that. My face is then simply the most beautiful." Her toast is finished and the tour goes on to the Donjon, a tower which was made of stands a year ago. A the moment there is the discussion in the town , wether this historic tower should be rebuilt to its old stony condition. With a lift or on stairs it is possible to go upstairs. "i have never been upstairs. I think this is a good occasion!" says Anneke. Upstairs the singer get weak on her legs. And she also gets a little dizzy when she looks down. "giant trees, " she says astonished.
Just behind the city the polder begins, where she often goes cycling. "Also the landscape make Nijmegen beautiful, together with the villages around. I should not leave here. Only perhaps for the climate and then i would have to go abroad.". Down again, at the base of the Donjon, Anneke still looks upwards. "For me the tower may be rebuild. Its a prominent point and gets Nijmegen back onto the map. For Anneke van Giersbergen Nijmegen is the wink behind Brabant, gentle and friendly. The singer of The Gathering has Klaas van Dijken made see why this city fits to her character....

And the second:

Pancakes and nutritive mueslicakes - Annekes favourites - The mueslicakes from bakery De Postduif are phantastic

To eat "the best you can get in Nijmegen" for Anneke are the mueslikoeken (=mueslicakes) from bakery "de Postduif" in Ziekerstraat 132. "When i buy one there then mostly with my husband Rob and we share one cake. They are very nutritive!" And at the base of the 'Donjon' is pancake restaurant "'t Hoogstraatje". That restaurant differs from others because of its "dog bar" ; a wooden construction with some eat and drinkbowls outside near the entrance. "If i ever have a dog, i will always go here for dining out. By the way: the pan-cakes are very good too!" says Anneke. Hoogstraat 3, 6511 RT Nijmegen, tel: 024-360 46 59 http://www.pannekoeken.nl
Cafe "In De Blauwe Hand" is the master cafe for The Gathering. It is the oldest cafe in Nijmegen and it got its name to thank the textilworkers who came there after work for a beer.
"The nightlife is great in Nijmegen. A beer do we drink in 'de blauwe hand' and dancing do we at NDRGRND" declares Anneke van Giersbergen. Former its name was Gonzo. They play many alternative music and there are live acts.
De Blauwe Hand, Achter de Hoofdwacht 3 , Nijmegen tel 024-3232066
NDRGRND, Molenstraat 99a , 6511HC Nijmegen tel 024-3240320 http://www.ndrgrnd.nl

Thanks for the translation, Feedback.

It doesn't hurt to read something different once in a while. :)
