Well, it is a strange manner of discussion... You've lost all the main part of my arguments, used only a part(!) of a sentence.... If you would be more careful, you would see that i have not said 'the strongest side', but 'strong side'. If you like Anneke's voice, you can't say she is a weak side... If you want to discuss, plays Anneke the key role or not, you should go to the forum called "Would you stop listening to TG if Anneke will live?".

The idea of my speach:) was not that Anneke is the only important bandmember, but that one of the important bandmembers is weaken by orchestra.. That's all. By the way, if you read more attentive, you would see that the first point was that the band is suffice to itself.

The thing is that you should listen to this rearranging without comparing it with the songs you already know...
It's like an electro remix of Monster.. You can't compare it with Monster but see it as a new song (that you will like or not).

And regarding the arrangements masking some members, you'd better cheer up Frank and Hugo cause they are the ones who got their part the most masked...

Of course, if you eat sausages made of soy and drink instant coffee, imagining that you have not tasted true products, you will love this substitute. But I can't imagine someone can forget the taste of originals enough to love this falsification. Following your arguments, i should forget... But i don't want to, sorry. Thay's why i will always compare to choose the best.

And your statement about masked parts of Frank and Hugo is incorrect, on my point of view... Cause seperate instruments are not heard in orchestra... But all of them together create atmosphere.. It's a music law. And human voice is a particular instrument, it can't be compenced by anything. And if the role of voice is not less then other instruments in the band, arrangement should not recede it to the background.

I like both Saturnine and The Mirror Waters. Rearrangement of Greg Guillaume is absolutely wonderful! I love it!

Violins and harp add them certain pathos. I was touched deeply by these masterpieces again.

And they fit the style of The Gathering, who always creates new sounds. They sound like new songs.

When I was referring in the fact Frank's parts are masked by the arrangment, Greg even acknowledge that he had no other choice...

I understand you prefer the original versions of Sleepy Buildings to these arrangements.
But in any case these are false... they would be if Greg was pretending it was an official remix but he took all precautions to explain his process and how he had contact with the band to publish them on myspace.
I'd like to hear (maybe via another thread) what you think of TG's remixes...

I think, i've understood the heart of our disagreement.

For example, if you take jacket from Armani and sew new buttons to it, every person who grasps in it would understand, that it is a jacket from Armani with new buttons that someone has sewed to it... And I think that inspite of new buttons it would be a jacket from Armani... You think it would be a new jacket from Burn... And Armani is not related to it.

The same is about music. You think that remix is a principally new musical composition... And i don't think so.. That's the difference...

About another remixes, sorry, tomorrow...

From all the remixes i've heard i loved only gallion mix of Monsters. That's all.
