ok here we go:

The
record-box
of

The Gathering

Although there will be also from "home", the latest Gathering album, a vinyl
be coming out, there is no pick-up to see in annekes home. The LPs from
singer Anneke are in the cellar; in her living-room only CDs are playing.
While her one-year-old son is playing with cds as toy car on the floor, we go
though her collection.

First Single
Madonna - Dress You up (1985)

A maxisingle from Madonna. With the instrumental version on the b-side.
That was overwhealming: Singing along in front of the mirror.
On the videoclip of that song there was a dance which i always exercised with
my neighbours daughter. I was my time from 10 to 12 and i liked singing a lot, so singles with instrumental versions were great!

First LP
Madonna - Madonna (1983)

My parents had many records: Stones,Beatles but also a lot of classical music. I listened
a lot to that. In my opinion my first LP was from Madonna. That one containing "Borderline".
When i got old enough to buy records of my own, the CD time started, so I
bought only CDs. I collected a lot of Madonna , I was a big
fan of her and still am. She is a kind of the "red line" through my musical life.
Not because of her singing skills, more for her as phenomena: She is sooo complete! When she started
it was not normal for a woman being so important.
She did so much to get so far and for me that was so "thrilling". And she is a beautiful woman; her eyes, her aura.
Later when you get really involved with music you notice that her songs are not so special, but what she does with it is fantastic.
Nevertheless i really enjoyed her album "ray of light". Musical inspiration came more
from Prince. Because of him i got into the old black music, much funk,
soul and r&b. The r&b stuff from nowadays isnt so great, but the old music
is fantastic beautiful. So it began with prince, from his singing-technic i could take a lot for me.

First CD
Blues Brothers (Soundtrack, 1980)

I bought that together with my brother when i was 13. We got together a cd player
and the day after we went at once to the record store - without wanting
something special. We looked around and later went out with this soundtrack.
I played that a lot. i didnt spend much money on music.
When i had enough money , from my first job, i spent most on
clothes and nonsense. Around that time buying music was not so important for my life.

Most Touching Memory
Bootsy Collins - Ahh..The Name Is Bootsy, Baby! (1977)

'Munchies For Your Love' is yet the most beautiful song ever written. I
bought that album around 1992. I sang in a duo, Bad Breath, where we
sang this kind of material. With this we could make people weep. I still
lay it often and it doesnt loose its strenght at all. The album is surely one
of my most expensive ones: a japanese import, i bought it for 80 gulden.

.... more to come...

Did they (as Bad Breath) release something? any single or cd?
Does anybody know where to find any songs - if it is possible.
I would really like to hear Anneke's beginnings.
