The Gathering are featured in the current issue of Powerplay magazine in the UK

I haven't managed to find this yet, but I'll keep looking.

Cool. :)

It always surprises me how much attention The Gathering (still) get in these hard rock/heavy metal based magazines, even though they haven't been playing anything like it for decades (although I guess they share some of the audience).

Here, this'll make you laugh -
Kerrang (in their 2K review of The West Pole) called them Dutch gothic metallers.

yeah but you refer to the word as it used to be in the 80's... Nowadays gothic is used to qualified Epica and After Forever for example...

yeah.

this Epica or After Forever reference is totally non sense to me and totally marketing. it's nothing compared with the Goth music... this reference is only an image for teenagers.

because Goth music came out in the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s.
I had the chance to discover Goth in the beginning of the 90s (still listening to Rosetta Stone, the Shroud, Faith and Disease...)

not through bands like ToT or Paradise Lost

I know... I consider myself DCD as gothic, in many ways they were...

Who still reads that dirt? All it concerns itself with is emo garbage and everything mainstream. Kerrang is the mag that thinks Evanescence are pioneers of gothic metal. Fail!
