Hans Rutten, Frank Boeijen & Silje Wergeland talk about the new single Heroes for Ghosts, Century Media, Psychonaut Records, Spotify, dealing with an ever changing music industry, and give a few brief hints as to what to expect from and when to expect the next album:

Thanks, very interesting interview! Funny, the part at the beginning :D

What was the thing with Century Media changing the title of How To Measure A Planet?

Thanks!

It perhaps isn't clear, I believe Hans meant they changed it on the promos, and it got changed back (Since How to Measure a Planet? is a pretty non-commercial album title). I've never heard about it before the interview, though. I'm guessing there are some pretty collectable promo CDs.

Good interview!
But, next question for me would be; what would Century Media's alternative for "HTMAP" have been? That must be visible somewhere, since Hans says they changed it on the promo CDs...

Have sent a message to Hans asking for a confirmation. Apparently it wasn't the album title, but one of the song titles. They changed Liberty Bell to Sitting in a Chair, apparently.

EDIT: Article has been edited to reflect this, sorry for the confusion.

They changed the title Liberty Bell to Sitting in a Chair cause of the chorus in that song and they thought it'd be catchier... They also changed the layout of the album to the yellow colour we know. Originally it should have been white, like the Liberty Bell single... (which would have make more sense really, a single and an album which looks similar).

Personally I think that Liberty Bell is catchier than Sitting in a chair, but that could be just me...
It should have been white? But white with the telescope on it in the same way as it has been released, or...? And did Century Media have a reason to change it?

Woaah, Hoang, you're listening some pretty cool music lately! :)

Its a better name, and also fits the space theme. But, the term isn't said in the chorus, so if you heard it on the radio, unless you caught the name of the song it is just that 'Sitting in a Chair' song. Also, it might be interpreted as a song about magic mushrooms.

Still, Liberty Bell is an ace name, and much better than Sitting in a Chair, which sounds kinda lame.

I've always combined both in the title... got used to...

Also probably because of a promotionnal CD from Elegy #2 magazine (promoting HTMAP release some long time we know), the song is mentionned entirely as "Liberty Bell (Sitting on a Chair)"

a bit like "Frail (You Might as Well Be Me)"

well, that's only details.

Well, the break up with Century Media came for the best... look at what they turned Lacuna Coil into (as mentioned in the interview).
About the new album, I have some high expectations after this interview. I bet it will sound like a mix of HTMAP + The West Pole (but a bit of Souvenirs would sound nice too ;))

For me personally, that would be just about perfect!

Actually I would like to hear something totally new from TG.... HTMAP and SOuvenirs were ground breaking in their time fo rthe band definitely. TWP introduced Silje and everyone agrees it was enough for a change between two albums. I think now that the band needs to reinvent themselves again :)

Judging from Heroes for Ghosts, it is going to be different! And judging from both HFG and the fact that Silje tweeted about "good stuff coming out of the rehearsal room" yesterday, my hopes are still very high for something very special! :)
