Hey My Names Simon! I first heard the gathering by getting Mandylion.
I heard it was Gothic Metal and wanted to check it out, as i was heavily into Nightwish and Evanescence at that time!
Its a great CD, but ym favourite has to be Black Light District <3

i've listened to the gathering since 1998 or 1999, don't remember clearly, and they've been my fave band for the last 3 or 4 years. not until now i've gotten my lazy, ehm, fingers over to type info enough to register. so hello people. i hope i'll enjoy it here :)

Hi people!
I'm Gabi from Hungary. To plagiarize David Copperfield - I was born. I grew up. I got taller - and then stopped. I'm one of those people who are around but never ostentatious, people usually don't pay too much attention to me. I'm like a jazz singer in a smoke-filled bar, or like a dancer in a crowded street. :)
The Gathering to me is like oxygen. I would die without their music. *dramatic*

Hey everyone! I just started listening to The Gathering after a friend recommended If then else. It's an excellent album. Once I get the chance, I'm going to check out their other works. Hopefully I'll get a chance to get to know most of you. See ya on the boards!

Hey Burning_You_To_Pieces & morphia's waltz!!!
Warmly welcome to the friendliest forum in the hole wide web :P
I agree, I_T_E album is fu**in great and also the one that introduced me to them in 2000 :tw:
You have to get the other albs after that, there are much to explore: they are very different from each other, since this is a ongoing evolving band. Simply the BEST!
Rock on! Image

Hello everyone! :flower:
New to the forum, but not new to The Gathering! I'm in my early 20's as well and my other favorite bands are: Opeth, The Devin Townsend Band, Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, Type O Negative, and many more!
I hope to see The Gathering live someday!

The first time I noticed TG was a show at Bizarre-Festival in Germany 2000. I had never heard of them before. It was raining and Anneke was real happy about everyone that stayed that night. I was just overwhelmed by Anneke, the music, etc. Now, 6 years later, I call 10 CDs and a DVD my own - lucky me  I almost saw them live for the third time, but unfortunately the show was cancelled. But I just ordered tix for Hamburg next week (Sept. 21st)

I am new here and would like to take this opportunity to say hello to everyone here. Hope to talk to you soon.

Peace
