I was just wandering about what types of music fans listen to The Gathering, so I thought what better way to go then a poll? ;)

I myself am a bit of a metalhead, with my main passion being Black Metal, but I'd probably rank The Gathering as my all time favourite band. I actually enjoy their post-metal stuff more than the metal stuff! That surely says something about the quality of their music.

Oh, and if this should've been posted in the Polls section, then I apologise, and the mods can fel free to move the thread.

Get voting! :P

EDIT: Whoops, perhaps I should've posted this in the Music section >_>

A tough question, really...
I was in doubt to vote for Goth or Everything but choise Goth but it could have been the Everything just the same...
Nice question though!

Just fit in a bit of everything...
I can listen to a very heavy thing such as Tool or Samael, go to Frontline Assembly or NIN and then switch to the White Birch... to end up with Bjork.. where do I fit then? :green:

belonging to a subculture is for lonely insecure teenagers.

Well, I like a bit of everything within the Rock genre; I havent really set out to venture into other things too heavily, such as Jazz, though I would likely enjoy it. Anyway, here is a rough look of my top 10 of all time, as I see it right now. The top 5 or 6 are pretty much set in stone, with the others just falling in behind:

1. dredg
2. The Gathering
3. Poison the Well
4. Opeth
5. Between the Buried and Me
6. Tori Amos
7. 36 Crazyfists
8. Explosions In The Sky
9. Zao
10. Summoning

So, within that list, there's Prog/Art Rock, Metalcore (Melodic, Progressive, ect), Death Metal, Singer/Songwriter, Post Rock, and Black Metal. I suppose I like a bit of everything, as of now, within the Rock genre. Each person has their little niche of what they listen to, and I'm pretty happy with mine :)

I enjoy almost anything and everything 8). Depends on my mood. One day I feel like goth, the next "radio" rock, then operatic, something heavier, something softer...Heck, some days I can't listen to anything or a particular type of music cause its giving me a headache and I'm not in the mood. But the next day or couple of days I may be in the mood to listen to it again.

I hesitated to sign "prog rock" but it's only my favourite since some months. Although this, I like a bit of different genres. So: a bit of this / that :P

I said a bit of everything.

I tried, but I never have been able to fit in one group, and I also listen to almost everything, as long as it is good or funny :green:

Right now I listen to more industrial/EBM than anything else, but I also listen to a fair amount of goth, progressive, ethereal, etc.

Oh for f*ck's sake.

Apparently originality isn't a trait Bulgarian's (stage more specifically) excel at. ^

Heh, I'm probably the only one here that does trance/techno the majority of the time. Although I refuse to consider myself a part of the ecstasy abusing, date raping "rave culture," I do tend to mingle with the average club-goers quite often.
