Ja, nieuwe album is toch weer in aantocht. Omdat men nog geen idee heeft hoe de nieuwe album gaat heten, noem ik de topic maar ffkes zo :wink:

Had deze artikeltje gevonden op een andere forum. Ben benieuwd allemaal!

The wheels are in motion once again for Dutch rock act THE GATHERING who will return to the studio sometime this fall to follow-up the well-received electronic/atmospheric-tinged opus "Souvenirs".

Founding member/drummer Hans Rutten says of the band's upcoming recording process, "We are working our asses off (again) on the new tracks. We will start recording in an old church in the south of Holland by the end of November. We will build a studio, together with Attie Bauw, in the main part of this little church. How it will sound? We have no idea, it's an experiment, as always!" [laughs]

He adds, "We will start recording end of November 2005 and have a possible release date by the end of March 2006. We will master half of the album by January 2006. It will be a huge return of guitars! Yes, a guitar-orientated album."

Op welk forum had je dit gevonden?

Ik ben benieuwd naar het nieuwe album, en hoe dat gaat klinken. Ik laat me weer verrassen :green:

Een van Island Records' 'Basing Streets Studios' in Londen is ook gebouwd in een kerk (zomaar informatie die me te binnen schoot).

O, ik lees net dat het nu SARM studios heet..., maar ze zitten nog op Basing Street :wink: .

Weet dan ook niet of Island Records nog wel bestaat...

goed nieuws dat The Gathering weer gaat opnemen, ben heel erg benieuwd :D

@ Snafje: het label Island Records bestaat idd nog steeds, begonnen als indielabel brengt het nu ook meer mainstream acts, omdat ze intussen zijn opgeslokt door het grote Universal Music

of bedoel je een andere Island Records?

ze hebben ineens wel wat met kerken, maar ja, voor de rest redelijk bekend nieuws (over dat meer gitaar-georiënteerd enzo)

Kerken... Dead Can Dance heeft ook wel wat in een kerk opgenomen. Als ik me niet vergis heeft Brendan Perry zelfs zijn eigen kerk waarin hij ook een opnamestudio heeft. Of had....
In elk geval vind ik dit weer verheugend nieuws. Wat het ook gaat worden ik ben er erg benieuwd naar. Ergens was ik teleurgesteld om op 'A sound relief' te moeten horen dat TG duidelijk niet nog zo'n gelaagd en geproduceerd album als 'Souvenirs' willen maken want ik had nog wel meer van dat willen horen. Aan de andere kant, het is TG, ze moeten vooral doen waar zij zin in hebben en dan is de kans erg groot dat ik het zeer kan waarderen.
En dan volgend jaar ook nog een 2e DVD... Wordt een leuk jaar! :D

En terecht ook, dat experimentele EO-gejengel moet eens afgelopen zijn. Gewoon weer goeie muziek maken.

En toen kwam de mouw uit de aap, denk dat ik ze eerder live heb gezien dan jij en er een cd van had.....















(ok dit is een gokje en sta straks waarschijnlijk enorm voor lul :lol: maar wie niet waagt... maar je hebt gelijk, echt fantastisch heb ik ze nooit gevonden. Alleen lag het hardere werk dichter bij wat ik zou willen dat het latere werk)

weet ik veel, halvewege jaren 90 geloof ik.
ik zit je maar te kutten, heb ze in 96 of 97 een keer gezien in Den Haag. En heb eens een cd gehad voor mn verjaardag (over vogeltjes). toen was het optreden nog wel redelijk 'hard', harder dan wat ik op dvd's bij Nicky heb gezien.
