what do you guys think of censorship on forums? i just started a funny thread but burn deleted it. do you think its fair?

I thought the atmospher ein this part of the room was already a bit tense lately.. Personnaly you know I found your pics fun... but I'd prefer first to see that things go a bit quieter here

Remember that "Is a hairy ... attractive on a man?" thread that Hans deleted some time ago? OK, it was toilet humour, but let's face it - it was hilarious. However, I'm not saying that this forum was the right place for it. At the same time, a good belly laugh does us no harm at all.

"Right-winged" has nothing to do with it. My thoughts aren't political, as far as I'm aware. Perhaps you believe that all political censorship happens on the right, in which case you'd have had a tough time in left-wing Soviet Russia, for example.

I should see the topic to evaluate the grade of unfairity of mentioned action.

I aprove some kind of intrusive actions for the benefit of the shared medium you are trying to manage but I would better just closed the topic so anybody could see what has been prohibited by superior forces to keep their way.

I will just wipe out any kind of racist, homophobic or sexophobic comment trying to be as flexible of my interpretations on what has been tried to demostrate with such comments. Of course I'm human and could act wrong without need of feeling guilty of any big deal, just a little error.

For the rest of the stuff I think I will let the people express in freedom.

But who knows, power is temptive to be used when is in your hands.

the thread was called 'attn : mecano', it had two pics, one i posted in the 'post a pic of yourself thread', and the other one was a bunch of excited kids with 'we want porn!' written on it.

No offence, but if you follow the philosophical view of Nietzsche, that "Everything is permissible" or whatever, beware of going one step further, in the direction of "Everything is compulsory". It's been a problem ever since things started to become more permissive, because so many people seem to want to be outrageous just for the sake of it, now that they have the chance. Eventually, it just gets tedious.

I will have locked it but not erased it. After all the 'discussion' between you and Mecano it's enough clear to me that you just created that topic to piss-off Mecano and that's a bad use of a free-offered service in my book.

Anyway any topic with phm as creator should be automatically locked as a general rule.

@phm I think you should better accept what has been said here because if you accepted the terms in the first minute you posted your first post (redundance) you should have had in mind that you can't just do whatever you want, because this is a forum and you should know that not everybody is going to be happy with things that maybe will make YOU happy... personally, I have laughed out loud with your jokes and funny stuff but not everyone will react the same way, and that can be a pain in the ass in most forums, but it's just the way it is... so... you should learn to follow rules sometime... well.. that's my opinion... it doesn't mean that it's valid but.. maybe ... well bye

Censorship has shown itself more than once here before. It's a damn shame but there you go, it's the boss's baby and he tells you how it goes. If it gets too blatent or irritating i'll just stop posting here, but it's got a long, loooong way to go before it gets that bad, i'm quite sure.

This is NOT a public forum. You are supposed to FOLLOW THE RULES if you want to post here. For example, a general rule as it was posted by Martijn is:
