My all-time favourites are the books of russian writer Nick Perumov-almost all! He's the one who has continued J.R.R.Tolkien saga.I guess not he only though:)
Also I can mention some Gogol's opuses(?)
And poems of Po and Shelly(sorry I may spell wrong their names:()
Also I can say that Cradle Of Filth lyrics I can add in this line
Strugatzkiye brothers
Sheckley and Saimak(shame on me for wrong spelling but I've never been interested in their english spelling:(
may be I'll add more later

http://www.perumov.com
several languages can be used on this site if you are interested

Finished reading Burning Chrome by William Gibson. Such a great collection and I love the atmosphere...goes great with Halo 24/Year Zero. Currently rereading Neuromancer again.

@Daeron...indeed Kurt Vonnegut will be missed. I love his book Cat's Cradle. Albeit it was before my generation....more of my mothers generation, I still love his work and so many of his other fine books. :(

Damn, Neuromancer is one of my favourite novels ever. Gibson is getting kinda repetitive lately, but that thing's a masterpiece.

I was amazed at how much more interesting Johnny Mnemonic was when I read Burning Chrome. :P

Im a huge reader but if I have to choose, anything from Carl Sagan or Miguel de Leon Portilla (This man is an expert about pre-spanish cultures in Mexico)... Nietzche and Schopenhauer are welcome too.

I admire foremost Herman Hesse's work, the more i read the more i love him. In second comes Huxley, with Brave New World on top (did you like it Dutch?), 1984, Henry Miller's books (took me ages to finally find the interest in him), etc.
