Exactly, you really couldn't call her anything more than "plain", could you?

That's fine with me, I could still buy her a beer and have a nice talk. :P
Why does everyone has to be extraordinary to be someone?

I reckon that Amy Lee now has one genuine claim to fame: more singers who were already well known - and doing just fine, thank you - have been compared with her than with any other person.

Well so could i, i was just being honest about her looks rather than trying to put her on a fanboy pedestal. Why does everybody have to roll their eyes at honesty..?

She's past her best physically i'd say. But she's real, doesn't try to glam herself up to ridiculous levels or anything, she's the girl-next-door, and i happen to like that a lot. Mentally, she's always given every impression that she'd be an amazing friend and an interesting person to have at a dinner party or something. I would have had a massive crush i've i was still under the age of 25. :D

my opinion is a bit changing from the beginning of this topic

i won't compare her to Cristina... (currently, i don't like Lacuna Coil ... especially the new songs... but the old Cds are cool)

anyway, she's not a model... well, she's not that ugly too. (some pictures may convince you)

but i don't like her timbre, her music, her fake gothic style (which has nothing to do with the music) and her (photoshop) look(ing).

very visual ... but musically not attractive and generally superficial to me.

sorry for the fans who read this

I think for the US she is very real. If you compare her with Britney or one of the other popular blonde silicone singers in the USA she is very gothic. Not in Europe, but if you live somewhere in the country...

hello you still cannot forget about this girl
oh come on she is just a rock-pop singer , and if you see now this "gothic" style is more and more popular and Amy need to look like this , as the same that cuople years ago Britney needed and still need to wear her pop stuff , you this the rule in pop music - that your music need to be a softly version of other style(hip hop .rock etc) but your image need to be harder
so just forgive and forget about this rock-pop singer
and by the way i will more prefer pop like evenescence then like Beyonce,
and more pop like evanescence than "gothicmetal" like leaves eyes

sure... i respect your opinions people.

agnieszek:)

to tell you the truth, personnally, i still dont know if bands like Leaves Eyes, Within Temptation, Xandria, Tristania... even Lacuna Coil are truly gothic

this term is abused and commercial to me... i also use it oftenly to argue.
that's bad.

my music references are just a little different from yours... i may be wrong (and you would be right to disagree ) but according to me, true "gothic " (fashion and music) come from bands in the 80s-90s like Clan of Xymox, Faith and the Muse (the early albums), Sisters of Mercy, London after Midnight, Faith & Disease, Rosetta Stones, The Shroud (most of them are from the US) much more than ....

Evanescence
