Ian McEwan | Atonement
One of the leading authors in the UK. Great story about some teenagers who are crossing the limits wich are changing their lives completely. Very talanted, very sensitive, very expressive language.
Coming Nobel Prize winner?

It's not going to happen, I think. He has already the Booker... 8)

Now I got some books of the "Dune" serie... Frank Herbert's Dune and The Messiah of the Dune

But I'll go on with it, it has a greaaaat atmosphere (although I didn't like the Messiah as much as the first one...)

The Dune series are great!!!
There is also a mini-series of the first two books, really nice as well!

I am still reading the Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind. Very nice fantasy series.

I'm sure you mean Jane Austen ;)
Her most read and famous novel is Pride and Prejudice, a classic that everyone interested in litterature should read.
Here you have more info about her and the novels to read as well:

Henry Rollins - Black Coffee Blues

If you think that your life is complicated and cruel you should try to read Henry Rollins' books.
Sometimes it looks like black humor, a kind of fiction, but unfortunately I often have to realize that it's reality.
