So, let's recycle this topic!

What are you guys reading now?

I'm reading several books simultaneosly, some for pleasure, others because I have to!

Right now:

Eric Idle - The Road To Mars (portuguese translation)
Jorge de Sena - O Físico Prodigioso (roughly translated: The Amazing Fisician)
Saint Augustine - Confessions (portuguese translation). I'm reading this book for a year and I can't finish it, in spite of being very very good.

Because of the exams I don't have too much time for reading right now... But next will be Coelho's Zahir I think, I like his style.
Also I'm planning to read Bulgakov's Master and Margarita again.
And it would be good to read in English more. I have a friend who has a lot of English books, I think first will be the Anne Rice - Interview with the Vampire (if I'm not wrong about her name, it's about 80%...)

Aaand I'll get a Dutch dictionary too to begin learning this funny language :D

* Erlend Loe "NAIV.SUPER.";

That's nice to see! Are you reading them in thier native language or in English?
I also like Loe a lot. Have you read Expedition L? A really crazy story about a guy who has this theory that origin South Americans once reached the Polynesian Islands – by skating on ice!! And determined to prove it (inspired by Thor Heyerdahl).
And have you read Majgull Axelssons Aprilhäxan (The April Witch)? Great book!
Another great Scandinavian author is that Finnish guy Arto Paasilinna, aka "The funniest author in the North". He is writing real weird storys, good weird.
And there's a interesting, coming Icelandic writer: Steinunn Sigurthardóttir. She wrote (in translation) The Time Thief, a different love story, about how destructive passion can be. She's very promising!
And HEY! Now that we are talking about Scandinavian authors, it would be a deadly sin if I didn't mention the greatest of all, my precious, my house God: August Strindberg. I sincerely hope you have read some of his works? He's the best!!! :green: :green: :green:
Well, that was a long reply. Over'n out!
PS. @ Daeron: Coelho is also really good shit

About Nordic writers...Eeerrr...Selma Lagerlöff: The Wonderful Journey(?) of Nils Holgersson :green:
I don't remember any other nordic stuff I've red.
Btw Slaughterhouse 5 is cool. Have you tried "Mother Night"? Probably my favourite Vonnegut.
Hehe.

No, I'm reading them in Polish cause English translations are unavailable in my library and unfortunately I don't know Norwegian or Swedish though I'd like to.

Not yet, I've never heard about that book but I'm gonna get it and read. Thanx! :)

Hey, thanks! I've been just looking for some interesting scandinavian authors. :D Oh, I'm also looking for some scandinavian historical novels. Would You be so kind and give me some titles?
Take care! :green:

You should have gone to the movie... Would have saved you some time :D
[offtopic]Any comments on the movie anybody? Is it as funny as the book?[/offtopic]
My current reading is a fantasy series from Terry Goodkind - Sword of Truth. I'm now reading the sixth book, Faith of the Fallen.

Oh, the film was pretty bad. :-? Compared to the book it's a pile of crap, but if you haven't read the book you might be entertained by some of it. Typical Hollywood screw-job, basically. Buy the BBC Series DVD instead, it's awesome..! 8)
