Actually France and it's plethora of government instituted social programs and legislative issues always comes to mind whenever I see the words "socialist" or "socialism." It was virtually an instantaneous thought.

But it's alright. Hopefully Sarkozy will be elected president next year and finally bring some much needed reform, so I don't have to be pelted with the constant imagery of out of control Muslims and angst driven violent entitlement youths.

another way to get over this picture is to come and see by yourself instead of buying whatever lie american media sell. when those "riots" happened last november i was living in germany, and by watching CNN i thought it was the end of the world. but once i came back here and was told what really happened, it just confirmed that US media smell of sweaty armpits.

Anyway, the American media sucks, but it's still considerably more objective than anything out of Europe that I've seen.
