Hehe I was going to say the same thing.

The best The Cure album not by The Cure is Magenta Skycode by This Empty Flow
(This Empty Flow consisted of members of Finnish funeral doom band Thergothon. Check them out if you like The Cure's Disintegration or bands like The Wounded or to a lesser extent Pink Floyd, Katatonia and Anathema)
I'm going to disagree with Abbath: The best Anathema album not by Anathema is Burning: A Wish by the very same Lacrimas Profundere. Not because it's a better album, mind you, but because it's more like Anathema ;)
The best Agalloch album not by Agalloch would be Alcest's Souvenirs d'un autre Monde, if it only had been a good album.
The best Diabolical Masquerade album not by DM is Axamenta's Ever-Arch-I-Tech-Ture.
The best Bathory album not by Bathory is Will of the Gods is Great Power by the Russian band Scald.

The best Depeche Mode album not by Depeche Mode is Host by Paradise Lost.
And it also is the best Paradise Lost album. Weird.

Hehe great topic, indeed!

All of Pink Floyd - Porcupine Trees agreed. The same goes about Massive Attack - Antimatter.

Well. I'll keep looking, right now nothing comes to my mind...

Disco Queen by Pain of Salvation is a great Bee Gees song though. :D

i'm very impressed, but i must disagree on this: "Core" by STP is the best Alice In Chains Album not by Alice In Chains... in fact, is just "Dirt" with another name.

no problem. ^

I respect your opinion

"Dirt" stuffs sound very different from STP. ... mmm well, doen't matter.

Scott Weiland performs a bit like Eddie i think, especially considering Plush song... the comparison is significant to me.

according to me, the band to be compared with Alice in Chains is Drain STH... especially because of their "Horror Wrestling" album.

yeah but there's some details, like the multiplaying effect on the voice... you are considering "Plush", but what about "Sex Type Thing"?

anyway, it really doesn't matter at this point... let's say that you are right :P

mmm... no no no.

I don't care at all about getting right man! ^ ^ I just like arguing, then that's it.

for sure PJ instrumental has not that much to do with STP one. so you are right at these points too.
I think you are right about the "Sex Type Thing" one too.

it's just that songs like "Sins" or "Where the River Goes" "Wicked Garden" or "Plush" remind me so much of Pearl Jam, especially because of the vocals... I know, should not focuse on the vocals only... but this is it.

Dirt is a very depressive and touching album to me, which i cant compare with "Core" that easily.

well, very nice to read your point.

cheers Casimiro!
