Well, i know that's a stupid question. I think she'd be awesome!!!

Her voice, lyrics..... it'd be fab!

I want her to stay in the band though

Maybe she could do a solo thing away from the band too?

i think is not the best time for that question, when a new tg album is comming up... besides, the answer is pretty obvious: of course she would!

oh I think she would be greatly succesful, but probably I would not like her solo work

I think TG is such a great band that they really need to be 5 to be able to create something very particular. I doubt Anneke would be able to start over a new band and be such successfull.


But I hope this will not happen for any reason!!!!

I don't really think she would attract any new fans. Some Gathering followers would listen. I don't see it going much further than that.

I think she might be even more successful, b/c my gut feeling is that her solo work would be very different from her work w/ TG. I think she would venture more into jazz & other styles of music.

Tarja is a great example of someone who is absolutely nothing without her (former) band behind her. I think she should serve as an example to other people of how having decent songwriters and musicians is important, and how being able to sing a bit isn't going to get you very far on its own.

yes, tarja was actually never involved in nightwish: she didn't practise with her band, didn't take part in the songwriting, etc. remember all the reproaches by the other band members. so i think that's not a very good comparison...

however, i would totally agree with dharksidhe. i don't think anneke would be able to reach a similar level as she does with the band. and vice versa, if anneke quit the band, the gathering would never be the same. but fortunately there is no hint that anything like that is going to happen, so what? i don't know why i'm even writing this

Anneke would not be the same without The Gathering, and The Gathering would not be the same without Anneke. Think about it...

I don't even like to think about Anneke leaving the band. Sounds like a nightmare for me!

Well it can't be that stupid a topic if you looked at it in the first place to leave your comment hmm?

I think she could have been one, with that powerfull voice and the understanding of lyrics and melody, she might have come a way with a new group or band. But i would still preferr to listen to her voice in a "the Gathering" session:)

Well, not a stupid topic anymore.. Life is full of surprises, isn't it.

I think it's too early to speak about success. The first feedback from people/fans/buyers seems to be quite positive. As for the gathering, we still have no new stuff out, so I guess we 're gonna have to wait. I 'm pretty curious about it, I just hope they DO release something sooner or later and of course keep on touring!!

And regarding Anneke, it's not all positive... I've read several review that werent that nice about the album, and so I've read some comments from people online who werent fully getting into the album (myself included)

Ooops! I have forgotten about the negative feedback, but I think that most is positive anyway. I think there's always been negative feedback about TG's music (with or without Anneke) too, but it's all part of the game. All have to live with it. Not all people have the same taste, so they cannot (all) be satisfied at the same time. But anyway, I have to admit you got a point there. The future is ahead and we shall see what is yet to come.
