Anneke van Giersbergen from The Gathering has record two tracks of the new studioalbum of John Wetton (ex-King Crimson, UK) and Geoff Downes (ex-Buggles, Yes). On the record Anneke sings together with John Wetton 2 duets: To Catch A Thief and Tears of joy. You can hear the collabaration on the album 'Rubicon' that will be in the shops on the 10th of November.

Here a mp3 sample of the song "To Catch A Thief"

http://www.frontiers.it/portals/0/multimedia/04icon2sample.mp3

It's a very beautiful song, and Anneke sings very high!!! :o :flower:

sorry for my bad English hehe

Kitsch??? :o Who calls John Wetton kitsch here?

This man is very talented. He played in giant bands like Family, King Crimson, U.K. Roxy Music and Asia. Not only he is a great singer, but also a bass-player. His music is art! Don't dare to call it 'kitsch'! :-| Geoffrey Downes is a great composer also, and a good keyboardist. Those two man are having a very important history in rock-music.

Queen is kitsch!

Which doesn't mean that one of the composer of it is not talented...

Respect for Mr Wetton, but there always was a bit of a kitsch side to King Crimson. If you don't believe me, listen to Larks Tongues in Aspic. Get past the opening Bob Fripp guitar extravaganza, and see what happens later in the album. I always was a big King Crimson fan, but ...

Thank you Mariska for this song !

...but it's a fact : this song is quite "empty" isn't it ? Ok Anneke sings perfectly (as usual) but the music itself has nothing special...from my point of view...

Music is not only a matter of level and structure... or whatever you want.
Music is more a matter of taste... it's personal... and this song keeps being very cheesy to me (i'm not talkin about the structure, just the melodies and atmosphere) ...

i dont know why you argue about prog rock. i do love this style too and it's off topic.

now i'm sorry if you are touched. that wasnt my purpose.
